DALLAS Its practically fattening just thinking about it.
Deep fried butter is among eight creative food items by vendors at this years State Fair of Texas in Dallas.
Fair officials say a Labor Day cookoff will determine the winner of the Big Tex Choice Awards.
The State Fair of Texas runs Sept. 25 through Oct. 18.
The eight creative food items by vendors at this years State Fair of Texas in Dallas:
* Deep fried butter
* Green goblins
* Twisted yam on a stick
* Deep fried peaches and cream
* Fried pecan pie
* Country fried pork chops
* Sweet jalapeno corn dog shrimp
* Fried peanut butter cup macaroon
Deep fried butter.
That is all kinds of wrong...in a good way.
..talk about "waking up" your intestinal track...watch out for the 3am EXPRESS...ya know the one, where you trip over the cat while looking like Wile E Coyote trying to stop the inevitable
“Fried” seems to be a keyword. I guess it’s an obvious way to cook under the circumstances, but ... *shudder*.

As you know deep fried cheese curds are served in restaurants there.
Who eats this $hit??!! These people have to be insane.

Most of us love that kind of food.
How about Country Fried Bacon like they have in a small steak house North of Houston.
Hadn’t heard of chicken-fried bacon, but it reminded me of my daddy. He loved chicken-fried salt pork slices once in a while.
And its State Fair.
And the creative cuisine it engenders.
