Struggling To Kneel
Always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. Col. 4:12
Just before John Ashcroft was being sworn in as a US senator, he met with family and friends for prayer. As they gathered around him, he saw his dad trying to get up from the couch where he sat. Since his father was in frail health, Ashcroft told him, Thats okay, Dad. You dont have to stand up to pray for me. His father replied, Im not struggling to stand up. Im struggling to kneel.
His fathers effort reminds me of the exertion it sometimes takes to intercede for a fellow believer. In Colossians, Paul refers to Epaphras as a bondservant who is always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God (Col. 4:12). Laboring fervently is the translation of a Greek word from which we get our word agony. It was used of wrestlers who in the Greek gymnastic games strained to overcome an opponent.
Epaphras interceded for other believers to become mature in their walk with the Savior. Asking God to overcome obstacles to spiritual growth in the lives of others requires our concentration and discipline. Are we willing to labor fervently in prayer to ask God to meet the needs of our loved ones?
Theres a holy, high vocation
Needing workers everywhere;
Tis the highest form of service,
Tis the ministry of prayer. Woodworth

The dawn awakes and brings the glow of coming day
and I in humble thanks, stop for a moment to pray
Nothing I can do can equal this gift of truest love
except to open my heart and accept it from the Dove
Good Morning One and All!
Breakfast this morning is going to be a bit different
(Just cause I want to be different today!)
-Shaved ham, diced and lightly sprinkled with cheese
layered into an omelet as light as a cloud.
-9-grain bread lightly toasted with sweet Jam and rich farm butter.
-Milk, cold and fresh, with that foamy head in a glass tall and welcoming.
-Potatoes, sliced and lightly fried in garlic butter, and dusted with a hint of Parmesan
-And for a little treat, an eclair shell filled with a compote of ground cashews, whipped cream, and shaved chocolate.
-coffee, lightly roasted and served with a side of cream
(Hot tea is available from my private supply.)

Kitty, I am so sorry your Satellite Internet Service is
still down - that has to be so frustrating and
disappointing to be back using dialup again for so
long - especially when your connection is that slow.
Wish I could wave a magic wand and PRESTO!
you'd be back up to speed. :( In the meantime,
hope this sweet doggie will make you smile.

Dang! I feel like I'm on a cruise - haven't seen buffets like you've presented the past two mornings since we were out on the Caribbean a few years ago!

Coffee/tea/milk or hot Turkish tea (chia)

Thank you so much, jaycee. I know all of us have days we have other things that we have to do when what we'd really like do is play here at Amy's Place. Life sometimes gets in the way! LOL!
I hope the shot today will give you the much needed relief from your pain.
Know you usually go through the whole thread - you're so good to comment on everyone's posts - and I have more beautiful music to present as the day goes by. I'm doing mariachi-type stuff today. I'll ping you to some or all - don't want to flood everyone's comment pages with music and graphics. :)
To: Mama_Bear
Thank you, Lori. Almost felt like a Finest-type presentation today, but once in a while it's still fun to set one big ole table and surround it with multiple borders. :)

OH YEAH! So, Johnn, let's have some more (also see #1945) music while we eat. :)
"Cielito Lindo" is a popular traditional song of Mexico,
written in 1882 by Quirino Mendoza y Cortés (1859-1957).
In recent decades it has come to be widely known as a
theme song for Mexicans, particularly in international
circumstances, like the soccer championship World Cup,
where Mexican fans sang it to the Mexican national team.
To: Billie
Extremely well done post Billie. It’s good to see you using the tables and borders, you excel at that.

Oh, my goodness! If I were not already committed to having lunch with my MIL at her assisted living center today, I think I would just have to go to Que Pasa, my favorite Mexican place here in town. The have the best Steak Fajitas and fresh, made-at-your-table, guacamole,....and Margaritas! This music makes me soooo hungry!

Ah, thanks, Aqua. I enjoy doing the tables again every once in awhile. Enjoyed seeing your beautiful opening a couple of weeks ago, and of course Meg’s every Sunday!

I am meeting some friends in San Antonio at the Riverwalk soon, and I'm already thinking about that very thing - great Mexican food, atmosphere, strolling mariachis!
Time for more music. :)

Today's Opening is awesome, Billie.
Your Blue-eyed Spanish Woman is beautiful.
I love you tables.
Al Martino's Blue Spanish Eyes is perfect.
No one does that song any better than he does.
Makes me want to dance.
Thank you for making Amy's Place beautiful today and everyday.
