Hi All,
I just received an e-mail from "saveliberty" advising me she has been hospitalized. The cause as she wrote was:
"I have a significant, but benign tumor near my ear that is pushing against a nerve (which hemorrhaged). It sounds bad but I have excellent care."
It certainly does sound serious to me, even though saveliberty said she was being well cared for. She did want me to let her FRiends here know of her condition. When I get further info, I will post it.
In the mean time, if you could add saveliberty to your prayers, I know she would be comforted by that.
saveliberty is often the Threadmistress, and I am but a poster. So, if you all could perhaps place saveliberty's situation in the proper locations, I would be very grateful. [Or Moderators, if you are reading this.]
Get well soon, saveliberty!
Morning, Foxy!
Yes, I have had some coffee and am finishing up the second cup now.
I do, too, SL.
She is also been advised she needs to fatten up for the operation. Now, honestly, how many of us would have that problem?!
Anyway, that's the day's recap. I am off to snooze.
Nite.
:) Thank you, Foxy!
Foxy kindly posted this update last night.
Piano seems to help a lot, as does the miracle of a heating pad. :) My piano playing was never strong, but I found some children’s piano books in the library and let’s see how well I do.
I did have ice cream yesterday afternoon to get my weight up, but then when it was time for supper, I couldn’t have any more than some soup. I am working on it.
Thank you so much for your support and prayers!
Cheers,
save
Thank you for the reading list.
We went to the library yesterday.
Cry Wolf was checked out, but I did pick up an FBI novel from Catherine Coulter (LOL after visiting the children’s library for piano books).
Piano time has to happen when Dad goes out for his walk and Mom is gone to the senior center or book club. LOL
Good to hear from you, saveliberty.
foxfanvox is right. Most of us may have the reverse challenge: taking weight off.
;)
LOL
Normally it would not be an issue, but I’d lost weight before getting sick and then the really bad week was one of little to no eating.
Since then, the medications make food less appealing, so my challenge is to find a way to eat more anyway.
All kidding aside, I know that would be difficult. Nothing worse than needing to eat but having no desire to do so.
We need to get some recipes for you!?
Trying to gain weight....eat anything white....potatoes, rice, bread etc.
When I was much younger and had a similar problem they gave me malt tablets.. THey probably are still available at a health food store.
Take care.
Amen to that.
Got fifteen or twenty pounds hanging around here I could let you have.
Keep on playin’ that piano and get well soon(est).
:) I love recipes. If there are some handy, I would love to see them.
I’m trying to imagine a situation in which I have to try to get my weight UP.
(Just couldn’t resist a poke at myself on that one.)
:) Plus homemade noodles - family recipe.
I don’t think that I am allowed any OTC items without doctor’s okay, so I am trying to work through the issues naturally (changing what I drink and eat to see if there is some improvement in my appetite).
Thank you, Unrepentant VN Vet.
LOL
It is a problem I have not had since I was still in school. If it weren’t for the medication, it wouldn’t be a challenge to fix now.
My sister had come recently and when she changed in Frankfurt, she bought a German pretzel to bring home. It’s in the freezer, and Mom and I will share it, but maybe not now.
Continuing prayers for your strength to return.
Thank you, lysie!
I have Mamie EIsenhower’s noodle recipe...You don’t have to dry them.
Sometimes small frequent feedings work better than full meals when one is trying to fight anorexia (loss of appetite). One cheaper way than buying Ensure products is to blend ice cream into those Carnation instant breakfast products along with the milk.
The instant breakfasts have vitamins etc. and the ice cream adds calories.
God bless you sweetie.
