Hi All,
I just received an e-mail from "saveliberty" advising me she has been hospitalized. The cause as she wrote was:
"I have a significant, but benign tumor near my ear that is pushing against a nerve (which hemorrhaged). It sounds bad but I have excellent care."
It certainly does sound serious to me, even though saveliberty said she was being well cared for. She did want me to let her FRiends here know of her condition. When I get further info, I will post it.
In the mean time, if you could add saveliberty to your prayers, I know she would be comforted by that.
saveliberty is often the Threadmistress, and I am but a poster. So, if you all could perhaps place saveliberty's situation in the proper locations, I would be very grateful. [Or Moderators, if you are reading this.]
Get well soon, saveliberty!
Yikes! The things we have to do to be healthy! I am sure
you will do whatever it takes....and make sure no one is
in the room with a video cam! *grin*
After I zapped my post and read further, I saw that you were up on the 3rd floor! Sounds as tho you’ve been a very good patient—faithful rehab can work wonders.
BTW since I've started taking my vitamins and minerals plus vitamin D3 seldom have a reaction. Have you had your “D” levels tested? My adult onset chronic asthma was nothing more than a severe vitamin “D” deficiency.
And don't forget they are trying to take your money, too! 8)
Thanx for the prayers for saveliberty.
To top that off, I was doing a crossword on my laptop when I fell asleep. When I woke up, my lap top format was portrait and not landscape. It took me the better part of Sunday evening to resolve that glitch. How can something that is so difficult to correct be brought on so easily?! Maybe the cat did it? She has created other problems when she chooses to walk on my keyboard, or worse, when she steps on the speakerphone button and opens up a telephone line.
Saw the reference to soy above and think it is worth avoiding. Hard sometimes, it is in so many products. One of the doc's on a weekend health show said it is not as healthful as all the hype would have you believe, anyway.
Tai Chi, eh? Is that a sorority? I joined Chi Phi fraternity in college. [But, they pronounced it differently.] OK, I am just teasing. Tai Chi would be perfect for you. It relaxes me just to watch it. There is a Tai Chi show on TV that I watch on occasion, just for the peaceful music and surroundings!
The journey to wellness is opening new doors for you, and that is a good thing.
Keep up the good attitude and God bless you.
....and our money! LOL!
Hello everyone!
It’s been over five months since the surgeries and I’ve made wonderful progress! Yay! Thank you for your encouragement, your support and prayers!
I am still not where I need to be yet though. After surgery, I had partial facial paralysis. The nerves were still intact, but they weren’t active on the side where the operations occurred.
Since then, I am much, much better. However, I still don’t have control over my eye. This means that I need to keep eye gel in it all day, which means, as my eye doctor put it “You can’t see worth beans!”
LOL How right he was/is!
So I asked the surgeon about electronic stimulation which the physical therapist had recommended. He referred me to a facial nerve specialist and she said that electronic stimulation does more harm than good. But she did recommend minor surgeries (nothing like what I went through five months ago) so that I would be functional again.
I cleared it with my ophthalmologist and the surgeon: they both think that this is a reasonable course of action and I am scheduled for the first procedure later this month and then there will be a second procedure in early July.
Other than that, things are coming along. I don’t have much issue with dizziness but I do find that I have physical limitations that I didn’t before- lifting, scrubbing or bending are still issues as these are prone to giving me bad headaches, but maybe these symptoms will go away as time goes on.
I was hoping to heal naturally, but after five months it’s a concern that if you don’t use a muscle, you will lose it.
Thank you once again for your friendship, prayers, humor and support!
