[history]
The kitty that falls asleep on your pillow purring every night -- is she worth just the $30 you paid for her at the shelter? Or your loyal dog, who you walk with every day -- what, $150? That's the value that showed up on your credit card -- but is their real value about more than the pricetag? In a court of law, that might not be the case.

Let's see, $60 adoption fee, plus $55 twice yearly for heartworm pills, $20 monthly for flea pills, $40 every two weeks for dog food X however many years I end up owning him, and that's how much my dog is worth. Plus yearly vaccinations and licensing.
I have already decided on a set dollar amount that I will pay for emergency veterinary care. I'm very fond of him, but I can't afford to go into debt over him.

I’m sorry to hear about your cat; I hope the surgery goes well and that she recovers quickly.

She is a yellow Labrador. In that photo she was 9 weeks old.
Her mom has a yellow coat and the sire was almost completely white.
This is her as of 4 days ago.
I am always temped to yell, YO RINNY when she get up on that pile of dirt.

I spend the hundred or so for vet visits, and the month $50 in dog food, but if a vet bill loks like it will approach $500 or more, I cannot spend it.
The most major factor in that decision is that my dogs are rescue dogs...pitbulls...and they have so many issues from prior poor treatment that the best I can do is give them a goo home and a comfortable death.
G.G. is my current and she is wonderful. Losing her would tear my heart out, but if hear she has cancer, I will just take her home and let her be comfortable. I cannot afford kemo!
Forget surgery!
I gotta stop thinking about it. You are making me depressed...STOP IT!

How cute! He looks a lot like my Kitty boy, but Kitty boy has blue eyes and a sharper face (he is probably half Siamese). My three cats (all shelter cats) and my Siberian Husky are worth all my worldly possessions-they are family, just like my kids, brother and nieces..

The CDC published a study stating that more than 1 out of 10 pet owners are infected with worms, in fact, the number is very much higher ...So, who is full of crap you or the CDC? Per your quote above one of you has to be wrong.

Really, it depends on the type of cancer your dog has. My dog, Gypsy had a cancerous mast cell tumor which was surgically removed and she has been fine for 5+ years now. Your vet will work out a payment schedule, if need be.
Our previous dog, Samantha, had lymphoma, and we did chemo; I’ll have to think long and hard before I do that again.

Jack is my third. I am a one cat at a time person. I've found that they bond with humans intensely if there is only one cat in the house. And, that means you have to entertain them constantly. All the better.
