Aren’t you making an assumption that his/her children are still young? Perhaps his/her children are in their 20’s.

Yes, I am. His calling them children, automatically made me think that, also saying that we should send them out, led me to believe that they were not young adults to be sent out. I would think 20yos, would do these sort of things on their own, if they so desired.

Actually they are all adults,

Daughter —— 33 — 2 grandchildren, girls ——— 6 & 4
Son ———— 30 — 2 grandchildren, boy, girl -— 5 & 3
Daughter —— 26 — 2 grandchildren, boy, girl -— 3 & 1
