This will be a general purpose thread for F1 news and pings that really don't require a thread of their own.
Adrian Newey ends F1 role at Red Bull immediately, potentially set to join a new team after twelve months.

I had a dream, Adrian joins Andretti Global now since they are not a F1 Team and no Garden Leave applies..... ;)
Adrian could work on all of Mickie's cars! Take that F1!
Then in a year he could join whoever he wants, or stay put....
LOL !!! Now that would get a herd of folks all twisted up in their panties !!!
Indeed I did.
There are only three front-drive cars I've every lusted after. Two are Citroens (the DS and the doo-shay-vah) and the third is the Cord 810/812. But both the Citroens are money-pits and if I could afford an original Cord I obviously could afford to keep six or eight of the Citroens running, so I'm SOL on all three counts.
I've been fascinated with the 2CV ever since I learned it was specifically designed to carry four passengers and a 50-kilo sack of spuds at 30 mph on farm roads, and get 100 km on 3 liters of gas. And they threw in the long-travel suspension so Farmer DuBois doesn't crack any eggs on the way to market.
Good Golly Miss Molly I hope so!!!

Although it is talking about “fully sustainable fuels” in orderto bring em back- not sure what they are talking about “fully sustainable”? The wood powered or coal powered steam engine?
lol... i want the 10s back
Yep- i think it was the Ferarri 10 that sounded so awesome
There were a few other classes that were rippin sounding too- but I’ll definitely take the 10 Back again
mMMMM….. V8 flat crank sound 😄

How sweeet the sound...
OH Yeah...
If the sound of the race car passing you by does not feel like it is cutting into you and make your internal organs shake…… it ain’t a real race car 🤣
100% and like the old Can/Am cars had a visceral feel that rumbled yer innards...
Agreed- or ‘if the sound doesn’t make you poop just a little bit, it aint worth hearing’ lol
Daytona 24 hours, mid 1970’s, John Greenwood’s Corvette with the massive Big Block (think 512 CI, but few know the real size) climbing the banking to go down the long back straight. The banking focused all that bass vibration to the infield campers, no one slept because ever 4 minutes there it went again.
lol, yup...
I went to my first NHRA top fuel meet when they were only running high 5 ETs and about 230 mph through the traps (full quarter of a mile). I think the cars were figured to have ‘just’ 4000 bhp. Don “Big Daddy” Garlits happened to be at this meet.
I decided to walk down to the finish line and stand with my back to the start line and hold my hands over my ears (which had ear plugs in them) so I could focus on something besides the noise. When the cars launched, I could feel my innards shaking. And I was 440 yards away.
