Is there any instance of an exhibition run between an F1 and an Indycar, on youtube or somewhere? (preferably roadcourse)
I’m only aware of the Montoya/Jeff Gordon F1/NASCAR exhibition on the IMS road course and of course they did not compete directly against each other. The IMS road course is the only track I’m aware of where Indy cars and F1 cars have competed since 2000, but there were several years between competitions and the course may have changed slightly in the meantime.
Cool- maybe they can fix the 2 cookie cutter chassis crap.

If you are talking about McLaren coming to Indycar, yes, absolutely I would like to see it happen. For reasons I put in my next comment.
There is a stand alone McLaren dealership in Houston. Must be enough sales to pay for the Houston operation.
Chode; first, thanks for finding the video. Very interesting.
Second; there are always going to be apples and oranges arguments to be made when considering F1 and Indycar. I did some research on the 2007 U.S. Grand Prix and the 2016 Indycar Grand Prix, both run at IMS.
2007: Alonso ran 1:11.925 for the fastest qualifying lap. The circuit was 4.192 km.
2016: Simon Pagenaud ran 1:08.6748 his fastest qualifying lap. The circuit was 3.925 km.
In addition to basic length differences, the 2007 road course included turn complexes inside turn 4 and at the south end of Hullman Boulevard. The 2016 configuration included a turn complex inside of Turn 1. On the whole, the 2007 Grand Prix circuit would have to be considered more challenging. So I would have to consider the F1 car to be superior in terms of performance, which should come as no surprise to anyone.
For the sheer engineering and technology, nothing is superior to F1. They are the most advanced racing machines on the planet, and they had better be for all the money and talent that goes into making them. And for the G forces and physical requirements to run a race, the F1 car is far more demanding because of the technology. I remember the Top Gear episode when Richard Hammond took an F1 car for a spin (literally) and said “this car wants to react faster than I can think.”
However, when it comes to watching a race, I prefer IndyCar. It is much more competitive as in most races, any one of a half dozen to ten drivers are capable of winning, depending on the breaks. In an IndyCar race, it is rare for a driver to lead wire-to-wire. In F1, its pretty standard stuff. I think Alonso said it best: F1 is a constructor’s championship, while IndyCar is a driver’s championship. I follow drivers, not cars, for the thrill of the sport. I understand there are fans who love F1 exactly for the technology. Nothing wrong with that; I enjoy watching F1 too. It’s just a matter of taste. I will never get into an argument over which series is “better” because they are apples and oranges.

. MODEL Winnie Harlow was caught up in a Canadian Grand Prix storm that left a stunned Daniel Ricciardo unable to speak.
THE Canadian GP ended in confusion after the chequered flag, marking the end of the race, was unfurled prematurely.
As a result of the mistake, the 70-lap race has officially been declared as 68 laps long with the final two laps erased.
The flag was waved prematurely by Winnie Harlow a model and friend of Lewis Hamilton.

Although the final result wasnt affected, with no changes of position taking place over the final laps, the early flag caused confusion after the race when a startled Daniel Ricciardo was told by Sky F1 that Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen had been credited with the races fastest lap.
Ricciardo had, though, lapped even faster on his final tour of the circuit only for his effort to be declared invalid, on the official timing computer at least, when the final two laps were erased because of Harlows gaffe.
Needless to say, he was shocked.
There is a bit of controversy about celebrities and non-race marshals signalling the end of the race because it leads to chaos like this.
The chaos it leads to is that the race is classified now at lap 68. The rules say that if there is confusion like this, the race then has to be classified two laps before.
Because the race is classified on lap 68 and not 70, as it should have been, the fastest lap goes to Max Verstappen, who did a 1:13.864 on lap 65, not Daniel Ricciardo who did a faster lap on lap 70.
It was at this point, Winnie Harlow knew she f*cked up. #F1
can we say at this point, ONLY race marshals can signal the end of a race?
