Turns out that the giant bird in the video feed from Circuit of the Americas was CGI added by F1.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5119383/Banking-heir-turns-backyard-Formula-One-racetrack.html

Banking heir, 52, turns 275-acre backyard into a real-life 1.15-mile-long Formula One racetrack - and says his favorite racing partner is his 23-year-old girlfriend

Alan Wilzig turned the backyard of his 150-year-old Dutch Colonial-style home in Taghkanic, New York, into a real-life racetrack
The track contains nine turns, 80 feet of elevation changes, grass-covered boundaries and FoamAir fences
Wilzig financed his purchase by selling the Trust Company of New Jersey bank - of which he was CEO, president and chairman - in 2004 for $726million
He completed the racing course in May 2010 at a total cost of around $3million
The entrepreneur has a ‘moto museum’. a three-story steel-and-glass structure where he showcases his $5million collection of cars and bikes

Will the ESPN-ization strike F1? Since F1 is moving to ESPN in the USA, how will this impact F1 racing fans in the USA?

Can we start up a web cast with David Hobbs and Steve Matchett for 2018 races?

Pass on to others, this should keep everyone busy in the off season........

I saw my first F2 race today. The one from Abu Dhabi. It was the 20 lap dash. My question is what can formula one do to make their races as exciting as formula 2? The V-8 engines and sick accelerating speed made for an amazing race. All of the cars were nose to tail, or three wide and there was a last lap pass for the win. No cars were a lap down, except those who had to quit the race. If only F1 could be as good as F2, but it seems like nobody in leadership notices the difference. What gives?

I’m no expert, but I believe Formula 2 is a spec series, where everybody uses identical chassis and engines. This is why the racing is so competitive, and comes down to driver skill.

Can you imagine Mercedes and Ferrari agreeing to a single spec chassis and engine, not manufactured by either?
