Did they x-ray his hip and say he needed it? I sure hope his pain is not like what I am living with. My M.D. sent me to the Orthopedist and he first made an x-ray and said nothing was wrong with the bones. He thinks its a sciatic nerve and I disagree. The MRI tells more than an x-ray.

I have a friend who is 13 years older than me (really old.LOL) she fell about 5 years ago and was having a lot of pain. She had a friend take her to the E.R. and they x-rayed it and said it wasn’t broken and sent her home with medicine. She suffered for about 5 more days something awful and went back to E.R. and they did an MRI and it was broken in 2 places, isn’t that terrible? Doctors can be wrong and are many times.

She's from here, but she's living in Madison, also going to school there.

We love her.:)

Yes many times over the years, he has a deteriorating hip joint probably injured when he fell through a floor during a structure fire. He would have had it replaced years ago but is hanging in there until retirement in a few years. The pain is getting bad, it's hard to watch him go through it.

That's terrible about your friend, there are good and bad doctors, I've known both kinds.

I hate to hear your husband has to suffer for so long. I’m always afraid it will do more damage. Thats how I feel about mine. Forcing myself to walk on it when its hurting so bad. I was at the Mall yesterday and wasn’t sure I could make it back to the car. I sat down in the shoe department of Belks and rested about 5 minutes and it gives me enough relief that I can walk a little further.

And with the work your hubby does, I know its a lot of pressure on him.

What I don’t understand is, if an x-ray doesn’t show a break in some cases, why not just go ahead and do the MRI. That wouldn’t have happened to my friend if they had done the MRI that first visit to the E.R. And if O gets his way, they won’t let people of a certain age get x-rays...I say that jokingly BUT I REALLY DON’T KNOW. Its scary!

JC, WHAT A TREAT!!!

I just love your pictures!

Your petunias are so full and beautiful. The ones I have left (that the javelina didn’t eat) have flowers about the size of a quarter. I have used Miracle Grow, and water them every day - but still don’t have success.

And your ‘dollar tin’ is a STEAL! And, of course you picked out the perfect ‘dollar flowers’ to fill it with! Two bucks, and your son was right - at least $25 at the florist!

I have never seen a wine shamrock, but it looks like it is thriving! (Maybe the little birds underneath it are sneaking food to it at night.)

Your lillies are so vibrant! What a treat to see them bloom all summer!

If you ever find another flag plaque like that one - I’ll put my order in - right now.

Your grandaughters are very beautiful. (Shhhhhhh - someone told me they take after their grandma!)

Thank you so much for sharing with us all, your beautiful garden and lovely grandaughters!

So far, three pitchers of frozen margaritas are missing. I cannot tell who ‘borrowed’ them - (”What happens at yorkie’s - stays at yorkie’s.)

But - I’ll make more - right now!

Well thank you so much yorkie! I knew you would appreciate them! I haven’t fertilized any this summer except when I planted the little plants and I sprinkled something I bought at Lowe’s and watered every day. Its very hot here but I know its hotter where you are. Petunias usually live in most weather though. And there are different kinds of petunias too.

I have a secret...The Dollar Tree, everything is a dollar. But these fine (LOL) other Family Dollar and Dollar General can charge more than a dollar! I got that plaque at one of those and it was $3.00 (goodness) and the tin was 3.00 and the flowers were 2.00...I was living dangerously...LOL!

Several years ago, I was in one of those stores and I bought the prettiest big jar with a wooden lid on it. At Christmas I fill it up with shiny Christmas tree balls, red, blue, green, silver and gold and put the lid on and its one of my favorite things. I did pay $6.00 for that big jar and it was well worth it. You can still find some dollar items in those two stores. I go in those stores because I find them fascinating. And I see things that I don’t see anywhere else.

You can bet if I run across those plaques again, I will get several and one will be for you.

When I sit on my patio, now you know where I sit. I sat out there a little while tonight after I watered. I wish you could see my 2 hanging ferns....they are huge. If I get time I will snap a picture of them.

The way you describe your pain sounds like it could be the nerve in your back instead of the hip. I had that problem one time, would get into the Mall then want to crawl back out to the parking lot, it was an inflamed nerve. Does the pain radiate down the side of your leg?

My DH is a tough guy but it doesn't seem fair for him to have to suffer so much, really looking forward to him having the hip replaced in less than two years. Time flies so it should be here before we know it.

At first it didn’t, now it goes down the whole leg and foot and feels like its asleep and scares me to death. That was my latest symptom that started recently. At first it was just sheer pain. What did you do for yours for it to get better? I keep thinking mine isn’t going to get better, then I get depressed.

I hate he has to suffer too. I don’t like to see anyone suffer over a long period of time. It can play havoc with your disposition and desire. I love my home and I love to clean and do everything but at the moment...I feel a bit disabled. And thats what depresses me.

Mine was caused from endometriosis, the disease was on several internal organs including the nerve. My doctor (best in the world) lazered the nerve away through a laproscope. Woke up and the pain was gone.

Your pain could be from a pinched nerve in the spine. You may could get a cortizone shot (in the spine), I know they can do wonders for the pain. My mom and hubby have have that done for their back problems. Their pain showed up in the buttocks and made the leg feel like it was asleep, we learned that a lot of people have that problem.

I have wondered about things like that. I asked the Orthopedist about a Cortizone shot and he said “I don’t want to start that yet.” Of course, he wanted me to try physical therapy which I did twice a week for 4 weeks and I think it made it worse. So then he decided on the MRI.

Enjoyed chatting and I am going to bed. Have to get my coffee ready for morning and I am tired tonight. We’ll chat again, Aqua!
