Oh my gosh! Was scanning through several days of posts and have to say that these lighthouse pictures you two have posted are breathtaking! What a beautiful sight. Thanks for sharing.
Billie, I took a picture with the cell phone yesterday (it is at post #1907). It is spreading very quickly - and there are fears that it will spread to Oak Creek Canyon.
Last night, the whole mountain was highlighted with a red-orange glow, at midnight. Horribly awsome.
I don’t think it will spread this far. It is about ten miles north northwest of my place. Sycamore Canyon is at high risk, though - as is Oak Creek Canyon.
There are some historical cabins that have been protected in the wilderness that will probably be lost, but so far, no homes.
The 450 fire-fighters they are bringing in today, will be a blessing.
I am just now at the end of Friday’s posts, and see you there answering from the day before! :) Sorry I missed you then, but hello today! :)
Thank you all for your lovely compliments on Friday’s opening: “Red Sails in the Sunset”. Though a ‘rerun’, Amy and I thought it would be great for “Wear Red Friday”.
What you like? Me, too!! (That’s why ya got it, sistah!)
LadyJag - loved your #1677 - the child in red poem and graphic. I'm sorry I missed your birthday celebration - I didn't get any of Meg's chocolate cake either. :( Hope you had great fun break dancing. :)
Jaycee, the little girl in your post #1605 is the cutest thing, and how pretty are the Angel Trumpets you posted at #1686.
Yorkie, thanks for your Fryday posts every Friday - always look forward to which healthy fried foods you're going to post 'this' week. :)Like Amy, I don't like onions, but have to admit that onion rings or the bloomin' onion are pretty anyway! Cleark Springs Restaurant serves Onion Rings stacked up on a platter that looks like a Christmas Tree. Very pretty.
Meg, Your Red Friday post at #1607 - gorgeous as usual!
Conor, I hated to see so many fallen heroes on Friday. :(
I LOVE Meghyn (is that how you spell her name?)
She is one gutsy, knowledgable and intelligent lady, and speaks her mind - loud and clear! She will be missed, when she takes her maternity leave.
He’s here..so far no conversation about what is wrong..Here’s hoping your wish comes true.
Know you'll keep us posted. Sending a little prayer you don't have to leave your home.
What a beautiful lady in your opening, Billie! Usually I can listen while I am replying but its not working that way for me. I listened a little but want to hear it all. And I will in a minute. And I will also be back in a little while!
I have been loading some pictures from the camera and then going through them to select a few to post later.
I'm not sure I spelled it exactly right - know it's not the usual spelling (Megan), but the "h" may not be there. Yes, she is gutsy and she'll be missed when she takes maternity leave - she'll probably be one of those amazing women who works right up til she goes in labor and then comes back in a couple of weeks! :)
My brother is crazy about her gutsiness and he says her looks “ain’t bad either” LOL! She’s sharp as a tack and dislikes dems as much as we all do! See ya’ll in a bit!
P.S. Love that Texas wrought iron fence with the wildflowers beyond it! :)
I didn’t think your place would be threatened. The vegetation is also not thick between where the fire is and your place.
I’d think it would be hard to get to Oak Creek Canyon, too. Would be interesting, afterward, to talk to the fire fighters and see if they came across any . . . interesting gov types and sites fighting that fire.
Hope you and buddy are well.
I thought of you this morning when eating breakfast. I will be so glad when they get you going again!
Thanks, yorkie. It reminds me a lot of "Wildfire", which I like even better, but this one is pretty and haunting, too. :)
What an interesting graphic you posted! Pretty girl!
