This just fits the pattern. ozero is subtly pushing race relations into the tank. I think he secretly wishes for race riots like Watts, so the fed govt can step in and “restore order”. Only his version of order won’t look like anything we are familiar with.
Never forget, the dimrat party and their media brought us this national nightmare. Wake up Americans.

Obama made it clear right afterwards that he was referring to the White House—contrasted it with his residence in Chicago.

The smart thing for the cop to do would have been walk away, but Gates baited him into the arrest. He probably wanted to get arrested. I don’t blame the cop, after all, how long do you have to have somebody yelling RACIST in your face before you get mad?

During the campaign, he gave support to a group of trespassers from a union who took over a building in Chicago.

I dont know why ANYONE would be surprised by what came out of former Senator Obama's mouth on TV last night.

Lie down with dogs, get up with flees.

It was all out there last year. Rev. Wright. Bill Ayres. The guy is hard-core leftist, anti local police, and it shows through his associations and friendships. We are now seeing it come out.

If I were in charge of police associations around the USA, I would start a national petition of grievance to the former Senator, stating that with asshat type comments as his, he is making THEIR jobs much more difficult, and dangerous, to do!

Frankly, I would be pissed too if someone entered my home and arrested me for “demanding a badge number.” <<<<

He didn’t arrest him for “demanding” a badge number, read the report. In any event, badges have numbers embossed on them for a reason, and they aren’t hard to find. This man was creating a disturbance long after the situation could have ended.

When the police arrive at the scene and find a broken door and you inside, there is no reason for them to assume it’s your home.

You seem to know a lot about what happened! I'm not really sure how broken the door was. I read the police report and I don't remember anything about the policeman observing a broken door. I guess he just forgot. He just says the door was open and he observed an "older black male." Hmmm. I wonder if the "older black male" was doing anything suspicious. Gee. It doesn't say. Maybe this cop can't distinguish? No. Maybe he's unaware that "older black males" aren't a particular unlawful lot? Or would that be profiling? He just asks Gates to step outside. He couldn't ask Gates if there was any trouble here? And maybe let him know why he was at the door? I probably wouldn't respond with the "Yo mama" stuff (Is that ebonic for FU?) but I probably would say, "If you have anything to say to me you can say it from there or come in if you like." I'm not suggesting that I think Gates acted like a Gentleman. He probably didn't. But he was in his own house doing nothing wrong. The cop was acting on bad information. Maybe that never occurred to him?

I read the report. I have no doubt Gates was being a prick, but arresting him was foolish and only exacerbated the situation. It’s still legal to be an asshole on your own property last time I checked. To allege that he was creating such a distubrance that if left unchecked would have led to a riot were he not detained is absurd. A DA that filed such a case would be laughed out of the courtroom.

Read the report again, specifically the part where the professor tells the Sgt. that his front door is “unsecurable” due to a recent break in attempt.

Next time, I hope the cops take the word of any person on the property as to their identity, then we can countdown until the lawsuit against the police for not having stopped a break in. The resident was disorderly and failed to cease his behavior long after the incident should have been over. His screaming outside was designed to incite, and after a reasonable period of time, enough is enough.

Suppose the officer ignored him and left him standing out in front frothing at the mouth, obviously deranged at the moment, and the resident went off on the lady who called the cops? I have seen exactly that happen, so it’s a no-win for the officer if he just leaves without resolution. Admittedly, the professor probably wanted to get arrested to feed his martyr syndrome, but the officer did his job.

I don't know what's that matter with folks like you. I was responding to someone who said the policeman observed a door that looked as if it had been broken into. You tell me that Gates had to tell him the door was broken, so I guess that would confirm that the policeman didn't observe this himself. The fact that you would challenge what I wrote in the manner you did just shows your lack of objectivity. The policeman was acting on bad information and he knew it. "Calm down Mr. Gates. I was obviously acting on a bad report. I'm sorry," would have ended it. Gates has a right to be a nasty child on his own property. He doesn't have to like the police if he doesn't want to.

As for the urgency you see, I just don't see it. The policeman could have observed the property while his backup arrived to judge whether he felt there was any unusual activity there. If Gates had been a thief he would have had to leave at some point. I come back to the point that Gates is a citizen in his own home and as such he deserves the benefit of doubt.

But the President is a schmuck for trying to make this a racial incident of national proportions.

Thats a lie. I don’t remember much of a fuss made when he tried to enter the White House through a window a few months back.
