I dreamed you gave me a calendar with all the birthdays marked with photos of your children. And that Frank was three feet tall, already! YOIKS!

Frank is not three feet tall. He’s also not three feet around, fortunately.

It popped into my head as part of a dream.
But it was one of the most bizarre dreams so far.
Still digesting it.

Late morning, still getting going. Had to don a sweatshirt — it just seems wrong to turn on the furnace mid-August.

A couple of weeks or more, yes. And the forecast was for today to be hot. Sun is beginning to come out, so who can say?

Looks like a fairly cool day here.
STILL having problems with the house net. xubuntu box doesn't play well with the win2k server. Argh! At least the new CD burner works...

Dinna worry yersel' lass! It's my own headache, "solved" by falling on slower FTP for backup... oops...
In terms of sharing hard drive storage on a network (you can save your files or back up copies of your directories on another machine on the in-house network), Linux has managed to play pretty well with Windows. EXCEPT for the version of Linux I am now using (Xubuntu), which tries to run well on older, less-capable machines (which my Scottish blood prefers), but which doesn't mesh well with Windows servers.
And the house server and depository is a Win2K box. For now. (I have a way around with much older and slower technology, and have used it.)
But I did back up my photos collections today. This will make LoM happy.
But in going through a huge pile of old floppies, I've found near a half-hundred (floppies) with photos not in my storage system *\:-(
Worse, I've still not found our photos from Australia in 1999.

Floppies with photos. That’s so 90s. I hope you find your Australia pictures.

It is true. Just wash them off good! The leaves are a reasonable substitute for spinach, and the roots make a starchy thickener, like cornstarch, and are also used in medications of various kinds.
