That made no sense to me. There’s a big fly on my monitor!
In terms of sharing hard drive storage on a network (you can save your files or back up copies of your directories on another machine on the in-house network), Linux has managed to play pretty well with Windows. EXCEPT for the version of Linux I am now using (Xubuntu), which tries to run well on older, less-capable machines (which my Scottish blood prefers), but which doesn't mesh well with Windows servers.
And the house server and depository is a Win2K box. For now. (I have a way around with much older and slower technology, and have used it.)
But I did back up my photos collections today. This will make LoM happy.
But in going through a huge pile of old floppies, I've found near a half-hundred (floppies) with photos not in my storage system *\:-(
Worse, I've still not found our photos from Australia in 1999.
