For those who are baseball fans.
Exactly. We don’t see it on TV. I hate to admit it, but when MCCarver was announcing for the Mets he opened my eyes to the whole game.
LOL Very good!
I didn’t hear much booing on that take. :(
If you don't get Sports Illustrated check it out. Its a "where are they now" issue and they have a nice story on the 1969 Mets.
Did you catch him saying “I grew up in Hawaii...”?
Nothing about being born there...He looked around a little nervous-like, it seemed to me.
Worst trade in Cardinal history. The first baseman who redefined the position.
He was definitely booed on his introduction. Not so much after the “pitch”.
He has a good syndicated sports interview show. Lots of old boys "remembering when".
Thanks—what I want is someone’s camcorder view—with the pitch and where ball ended ;)
Watch the first pitch video on MLB.com. The guy who drove the golf cart for Stan “The Man” did not vote for Obama. He barely looked at him and didn’t want to shake his hand.
I love it! Nothing like a bit of baseball banter between bitter rivals! Wow — I just realized there’s quite a bit of alliteration in that last sentence.
Good grief. What is a dweeb like that doing with such geat seats?
In fact, I remember where I was when I heard of it!
Steve Bartman’s relative?
“Worst trade in Cardinal history.”
It was a bad one, maybe the second worst.
The worst (and among the top three bad deals in baseball history), being Steve Carlton for Rick Wise, because Gussie Busch’s ego could not, handle Carlton’s demands for a few extra thousand dollars.
Easily cost the Cards four post-season appearances. And, sorry to say, I don’t know if the Mets win it all in ‘69 and ‘73 with a Bob Gibson/Steve Carlton dynamo powering the St. Louis Cardinals.

LOL...Jim, you’ve gotta see this post...
I think it’s a horribly gone wrong genetic experiment to see what would happen if John Kerry and Jimmy Carter produced an offspring.
