Here comes the best young hitter in the game leading off for the NL (when he wants to hustle anyway)....

Perhaps the best single season ever for a pitcher in the modern era.
In 1969 they lowered the mound across baseball, largely because of Gibby’s dominance.

They wanted more scoring. Same reason the DH exists in the AL. I always viewed the DH as welfare for over-the-hill outfielders.

NL hitting it right at people. Both HanRam and Pujols just slaughtered pitches right at infielders.

I’d rather see a DH than some .100-hitting pitcher.

sometimes they come thru. One thing we know is an AL manager doesn’t have to make the decision to let the pitcher, who moght be doing well, to hit or leave him in. It’s probably the most important decision a NL manager has to make. AL managers are relieved of that decision. I thought only softball had 10 players on a side.

Id rather see a DH than some .100-hitting pitcher. On the other hand, the extra pressure it puts on a pitcher, and the use of the double switch adds some elements missing from the DH's use.

Good grief, he actually pumped his fist after that? LOL!

Uh-oh. You just opened up a big can of worms.
Using a DH isn’t playing baseball. That’s prostituting the game for the sake of ticket sales.
