Matthew 11:28-30
28. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you
rest.
29. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly
in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Till He Became Strong
His fame spread far and wide, for he was marvelously helped till he became strong. 2 Chronicles 26:15
In George MacDonalds fairy tale Lilith, giants live among normal people. These giants must conduct their daily affairs very carefully. When they sleep, their snoring is disruptive. When they turn over, houses may be crushed under their weight.
In the Bible, Uzziah became a giant of a man after becoming king at age 16. The keys to his success are recorded in 2 Chronicles 26. His father Amaziah set a good example for him (v.4). The prophet Zechariah instructed him (v.5). He had an army of fighting men and capable generals who helped him (vv.11-15). And God prospered him (v.5).
Clearly, King Uzziah became a giant through the Lords blessing. But after attaining success, he grew careless and stumbled badly. The clue to his demise is found in the phrase he was marvelously helped till he became strong (v.15).
Those last four words serve as a dire warning to us all. Uzziahs heart was lifted up, to his destruction (v.16). He usurped the priestly duties and became leprous (vv.16-21).
We have all been marvelously helpedby our Lord God, by those He has given to set an example for us, and by those who serve alongside us. When we become strong, we must take heed, or we too will stumble.
When all goes well and I feel strong,
Oh, help me, Lord, to see
That I must place my confidence
In You and not in me. Anon.

Thank you, jaycee...I really loved doing the Hummingbird posts..I spent way too much time browsing the internet looking for hummers..got sidetracked looking at other birds..You know how one can get sidetracked..
;o)
I would love a box of your weather! It is 82 right now which is cool compared to 102... There are showers west of me but not looking good for here.
I saw momma Raccoon and her 3 babies on the patio last night...I had thought she had two..They lingered long enough this time for me to be able to really get a good look. I had put out cat food ...It worked! I turned off all lights, TV when I saw them and stood close to the sliding door to enjoy.

Happy Lords day to you Meg.
Still chilly here, it seems like we will be missing a good chunk of summer this year.

So glad you got to see the babies again. They must like it as dark as possible! Bet they're darling. I think this picture below is one of the cutest I've seen. He/she is just looking up so innocently at whoever is holding them! You gotta love that little doll!

Well, we’ve moved from middle 50’s to middle 60’s, but as I told Meg this is very unusual for us! July and August are usually sweltering hot! It will come back with a fury soon!
It sure has been nice sitting outside though! It was downright chilly last night when I was at my son’s house. I even threw a light jacket in my car....just in case!
