If those were the clouds, they’re nothing new. I’ve seen them many times, most recently last week in Chicago.

I live in South Western Queens and we had the same formations here. The sky was also a deep red color - quite beautiful. I wasn’t thinking, I should have snapped a cell phone picture. It would have made nice wallpaper for my phone. Oh well. As all of you here in NYC know, last night we had some terrific thunderstorms moving through the area.

I saw them last night on the Upper East Side...everyone was on the sidewalk looking up snapping pictures. It was really breathtaking.

I have a dreams about the sky turning wierd and then it opens up and Jesus and the Saints go to battle and they are as big as far as the eye can see and all the world sees it.
The clouds remind me of that dream.

Bows and flows of angel hair,. And Ice-cream castles in the air,. And feather canyons everywhere,. I’ve looked at clouds that way

Mammatus clouds are formed by sinking air inside of thunder clouds. They look a little scary, but cooling air usually means a weakening storm, so they’re actually a good sign for avoiding stormy weather.
