Got It In Tennessee Two Months Ago, WSJ Says
Apple CEO Steve Jobs announces a GPS feature on the new iPhone 3G as he delivers the keynote address at the Apple Worldwide Web Developers Conference June 9, 2008, in San Francisco.
Steve Jobs, who has been on medical leave from Apple for the past six months, received a liver transplant in Tennessee two months ago, according to a report Friday in the Wall Street Journal.
Earlier this year, Apple's CEO was reported to be relocating from California to Tennessee, which has a shorter waiting list for patients seeking organs, the report noted. In January, after Jobs announced that he would step aside from his day-to-day duties for a six-month medical leave of absence, Bloomberg reported that Apple's CEO was considering a liver transplant. In a telephone interview at the time, Jobs refused to comment on his health status.

Hepatitis?
Alcohol?
Too bad. Great mind. He is in my prayers.
That said, methinks Monday might be a bad day for my Apple stock.
If he had the transplant two months ago, it seems to be successful. If anything, it may help Apple stock.
Toxicity to anti-cancer medications or metastasized cancer most likely.
The advantages of having money. Not everybody could buy a house and move to another state just to get on a shorter transpant list.
Wonder if Steve Jobs would be alive today if the Government ran health care...
Actually, just about anyone could do that.
It's the new Steve Jobs wing of the hospital where he got his transplant that will open up in a few years that represents what the little guy typically can't do. :-)
Just think.....
When ObamaCare comes online, there will be enough livers, hearts, etc for EVERYONE!
Having someone else pay for things, solves everything.
Otherwise that would've been another Jobs lost.
Heh, heh.
Morbid, I know, but I couldn't resist.
That is horrible. I wish him well.
He certainly would - there will be a medical system for the Brahmins and one for the for the rest of us untermensch.
GODSPEED
Why not? Furthermore, we don't know whether he ultimately received the transplant from a live donor.

Lots of organs available if you belong to the party and don’t mind receiving organs from the political prisoners.
From my fingers to God’s eyes...: The stock has been fine for the past five years. It will be fine five years from now. The day to day price is secondary. I sincerely hope this guys makes it through. Huge transplants are horrible things to endure.
It’s a national list and local medical transplant staffs determine who gets placed on the list. Psych profiles, life style, family support and medical compliance are important placement factors.
However, there is only one liver for every four people on the list. Once placed, the criteria for transplant is degree of sickness. The system may be gamed, but IMHO (having worked in liver transplant), many of the transplant profesionals are very concerned about ethics and fairness.
Can we have your liver then?
Alright, you talked me in to it.
