Gov. Sarah Palin came out swinging on an appearance on the 'Today' show this morning. Ostensibly an interview about the Alaska natural gas pipeline and the future of the Republican party, the conversation quickly turned to David Letterman's comment that Palin looks like "a slutty flight attendant," and his remarks about Palin's daughter, Willow.
Matt Lauer defended Letterman at one point saying Letterman, "did not mention Willow by name," to which Palin said, "I would say that you and anybody else are extremely naïve to believe David Letterman's extremely convenient excuse....Regardless, it was a degrading comment about a young woman."
When Lauer asked if Palin's response to Letterman, that he couldn't be trusted around Willow, was in bad taste, Palin said, "Take it however you want to take it."
Other quotable moments:
"The problem is the double standard that has been applied here. Remember in the campaign, Barack Obama said 'family's off limits, do not talk about my family,' and 'the Candidate Who Must Be Obeyed,' everybody adhered to that and they did leave his family alone. They didn't do that on the other side of the ticket, and it has continued to this day."
"He doesn't have to apologize to me. I would like to see him to apologize to young women across the country for contributing to that thread throughout our culture that makes it seem OK to talk about young girls in that way, where it's OK, accepted and funny to talk about statutory rape. It's not cool and it's not funny."
"This so-called humor, I don't find it humorous."

Heh. :)
Maybe its just that Tina Fey is heavier.
Me too. I'm on Long Island, where are you?
Her face looks thinner to me. Other than that, she’s in great shape.
LMAO!!!!!
Duh.
Kiddy comedy—or the sick, putrid dribbling from a pathetic out of place old letter man—doesn’t hold up against the grace and strength of Palin.
Her face did look thinner....however, she also had her bangs behind her ears and not on ther forehead.
Hmmmm, I’ll try that one tomorrow....
ther = her
D’oh!
The media is the enemy, take no prisoners, make them DEFEND this nonsense. When Matt Law-wer tries to defend and explain Letterman's position he looks the fool. He knows it and we can win by going on the offense against these people. Making friends with them is loser's deal.
schu
Sarah Palin should have kicked the homosexual Matt Lauer right in the balls.
Me, too. :)
I wonder if the proper response would be to suggest how such humor would be taken if Letterman had suggested the Obama’s 8 and 11 year old daughters were raped by some rap star like Robert Sylvester Kelly aka “R. Kelly”, who seems to have a penchant for underage girls?
I’m sure the Obamas wouldn’t have a problem with that, because they are enlightened liberals, and if their daughters were amenable to having sex while underage, it would be fine with them. They might insist that mister Kelly use a condom, or if not, and the elder girl became pregnant, they would be more than happy to escort her to an abortionist, to dispose of the unwanted “thing”.
the msm is trying to do to palin what they did to gingrich back in the 90’s
Heehee.
And similarly, if I said "I saw that balding 'Today Show' host in a New York alley, high as a kite and fellating some homeless guy," there'd be a whole range of possible subjects, from Willard Scott to Al Roker... except that in this case, we can verify that no Today Show hosts other than Matt Lauer were in the alley at the time.
