I'd go see them this year (haven't seen them live for 25 years) except I couldn't sit through Aerosmith.

Yes. Bonn Scott’s been dead for awhile though. ZZ Top still has the original Tres Hombres.
I definitely think so.
AC/DC’s my all time favorite, I’m a blues junkie and for hardrock and their old stuff, it’s as pure as it gets.
As for ZZ Top
* Same line-up in the band for 40 years.
* No break ups or time off
* Rock just as hard now as they did in the late 60s
* Play like they mean it, not like some weak-ass, need some $, reunion tour
- Don’t got the patience, just slip forward to about 4:00 for a slow-hand geeetar solo.
When Billy used to open for Jimi Hendrix - he say that Billy Gibbons was the baddest ass blues guitarist he’d played with.
Any cheese-dick rocknroller can make a splash - the real deals stick around because they love it - these dudes show it.

One of ‘The Best Concerts Ever’ I had the pleasure of attending was a ZZ Top show. Man, they were AWESOME. 1986.
We had an absolute blast...dressed the parts in long black coats, sunglasses and Fedoras; the guys wore beards, etc. I seem to remember wearing roller skates for some reason, LOL!

Steve Miller was memorable, too. First concert with ‘laser beams’ and lots of cutting edge ‘ee-lec-tronics.’ I can only imagine what paying customers expect these days, LOL!

Thing that probably kept them together more than anythign else is none of them seem to have developed a drug, drinking and/or money problems.

Forty years with ZERO lineup changes really is an achievement.

Agreed. He's pure blues/rock guitar genius. These guys are true musicians of unparalleled talent. I saw them live more than 20 years ago when I was in college, and I still enjoy their music today, particularly the older stuff, just as much as the first time I heard it. They are timeless.
I went to college with a girl from THE LaGrange... lived thru Marvin shutting it down too. Ah, the memories! My east coast brothers-in-law thought I’d have ZZ Top playing at the wedding since it was happening in Texas... ZZ top is well loved!
Anyhow, they had a conveyor belt that ran the length of the stage. You could not see it because it was even with the stage floor. They would get on that thing and start walking, then someone would turn that belt on and it would appear that they had stopped moving even though they were still walking. They put on a great show.
