To he!! with them, let them stay here & let us who want to make a new world for ourselves go forth and settle it. I would go like our forefathers and settle a savage land make something of myself by my own labor and sweat. To be the master of my own domain, with out any gov.’t interference!

What are they going to do, call on Star Trek for the ships? It’s not like you can call a cab to go light years.

I vote we go to Gor and ride tarns. It’s right here in our solar system on the opposite side of our orbit.
Liberals wouldn’t last 12 hours before being enslaved. And according to all the paperback covers the girls of Gor make Megan Fox look like a boy.

I love your spirit of adventure, but I respectfully with letting them have our home. We can’t feel like running when they infest our lives.
We need to have BOTH places.

Thoughts:
1. Terraform Mars. It’s a planet, and it’s close.
2. Colonies on the moon. Free of most Earthly reach, still close to home to be possible with today’s technology.
3. Orbital habitats. Possible with today’s technology, though satellite destroying weapons pose a risk.
4. Europa - it’s got water.

These people tried to get to Alpha Centauri ~ and we all know what happened then ;) That's because stowaway KGB agent, Dr.Smith, sabotaged the mission. Actually, they explained in a later episode that Smith's presence (additional weight) actually caused the ship to go off course and miss an asteroid that would have destroyed the ship. Oh, the pain, the pain of it all...

What are they going to do, call on Star Trek for the ships? Its not like you can call a cab to go light years we theoretically have the technology for generational ships, and the future should make things a bit faster. we could use nuclear rockets, ion drives or even the original Project Orion which used nuclear bomb blasts to increase speed exponentially.
approaching something near the SOL is eventually possible but that, currently, is the speed limit, unless some of the theories of taking short cuts through worm holes, warp bubbles and the like. but this may prove to be a fantasy.
we can still reach out to the closer stars with generational ships......we may move out into the stars and lose track of one another, the distances and time being so vast........but if we set up viable colonies elsewhere, we move closer to preventing the human race from its eventual extinct....
Brave new world...

Is Obama OUR Dr Smith - or Geitner? I was thinking the liberals and lefties would go off to the new planet. They would probably invite commie agent Smith to go along with them.
