I need to leave again. I think Marissa has an ear infection.
A fever has been returning every couple of days.
She does not have an appt but her doc said to bring her in so they can work her in.

I'm hoping we get whatever it is cleared up soon.
She starts swim lessons on the 23rd.
She had a really stubborn one about 3 years ago.

Hope everyone has a great afternoon.
I will see you when we get home.

Oh, no - doggone it! I hope the doctor can give her something to get her over whatever is causing the fever and just generally dragging her down.

Hopefully, soon enough so that she won't miss the start of her swimming lessons.

On a happier note - isn't today the day her summer vacation starts?!

It didn’t take very long to get in and out today.

Yep ... Marissa has an ear infection. He gave her an antibiotic and a prescription for ibuprofin (?). She goes back next Friday. He will decide then whether to postpone her swim lessons. Her temperature was only slightly elevated when we went in. Yesterday, she came home from school with a temp of 102.4.

Today was the last day of school. I let her go because she said she had lots of stuff to bring home ... and she seemed to be feeling okay this morning.

I can hardly believe that she will be in the 4th grade next year. Where has the time gone?

Just sent a post and should have read on down before responding. Ear infections will spike a fever fast.Get Well Marrisa, REAL FAST!

Saudia's last day will be Wednesday,when she graduates, and Kobe's on Friday the 19th..then starts DVBS! Kobe goes into 6th grade next year. Unbelievable!

Thank you all for your support of our troops.

Tonight I wore my "Support Our Troops" T-shirt to rehearsal, with my son's Troop insignia.

One of the (older) actors commented in it........"Support our troops????!!!! I said, "Yep! Especially my kid" with a big smile. "Is your son in Iraq?" "Yes he is." "They all need to COME HOME!!!" I said something like, well, it's kind of winding down now, all in good time. "THEY NEVER SHOULD HAVE GONE OVER THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!"

....and so I walked away. 5 minutes before rehearsal is not the time to start an argument.

It hurts so much when people say things like that to me. For the first half hour of rehearsal I was on the verge of tears. Then I got mad at myself. I told myself I needed to get STRONGER, and prayed briefly for strength. Then the thought occurred to me: Why am I giving this man so much power over me and my emotions? Who cares what he thinks? and then this: It's okay to cry because you're worried. It's okay to cry because you miss your son. But it's NOT okay to cry because of what some uninformed moonbat yahoo says to you.

And I was just fine for the rest of the night.

Sorry, I just needed to vent, I guess.

Getting “In The Way”

Jesus said . . . , “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” —John 14:6

The ancient Romans were known for their roads, which crisscrossed their empire with wide, heavily traveled highways. It’s what Jesus’ audience would have pictured when He claimed, “I am the way” in John 14:6.

While this verse indicates that He is the way to heaven, there’s really more to His statement. Cutting through the underbrush of the dense jungle of our world, Jesus is our trail-guide who makes a new way for us to live. While many follow the way of the world by loving their friends and hating their enemies, Jesus carves out a new way: “Love your enemies, bless those who curse you” (Matt. 5:44). It’s easy to judge and criticize others, but Jesus the Way-maker says to take the plank out of our own eye first (7:3-4). And He cuts a path for us to live with generosity instead of greed (Luke 12:13-34).

When Jesus said “I am the way,” He was calling us to leave the old ways that lead to destruction and to follow Him in His new way for us to live. In fact, the word follow (Mark 8:34) literally means, “to be found in the way” with Him. You and I can make the choice to travel the familiar and ultimately destructive ways, or we can follow Him and be found in the way with the One who is the way!

As people of the Lord we’re called
To follow in His way;
And though the world won’t understand,
They’ll see Him on display. —Sper

We don’t need to see the way if we’re following the One who is the Way.

Good morning, ML.

Please feel free to vent anytime you want/need to. I get angry at those people and I don’t have any relatives there. I feel like they all belong to me.

I also pray that they will all be safely home soon but I say bring them home after the job is done.

If you are ever worried and need a shoulder, come by and ask us to say a prayer to give you strength. We will be here for you.

Prayers said for your son and the rest of our men and women in harm’s way. God Bless and Protect them.
