I had a beautiful and (I think) symbolic event happen this morning and wanted to share it with all my brothers and sisters in Christ and those who appreciate roses.

My newly planted "Pope John Paul II" commemorative rose gave forth it's FIRST gorgeous flower. It opened fully this morning - it's first flower on National Prayer Day! Is this not a beautiful thing? One does not have to be Catholic to appreciate this!

I have heard that Pope John Paul II roses have been planted all over the grounds around the Vatican. That must be breathtaking when they are all in bloom!
