I have been using Picasa.. Here is a link to the hike I took last fall .. the day I fell & broke my wrist ( and in a $%#&&*$ cast for 11 weeks)... the last pix you see in this group WAS the last pix. I did take about 575 pix in the 3 hour outing. I was with my friend John & his 2 dogs. Our four dogs had a blast.. as did I , except....

With this link you can see if you might want to use it. Dont know how it compares to Fotki.. Picasa is a part of Google/Gmail.. which I use, as you know.

With this people can see slide shows or just individual pix. They can also save (free) any pix they want. There is room for commentary & maps. I like it very much. I no longer send batches of pix.. just the link for people to view or NOT view as they desireHike at Brandywine/Slip on moss in river/ Major oppsie

mozie, what exactly are you having problems with? You do KNOW HOW to post a pix obviously, so that is not what you mean.

do you mean you cant get them from your saved pix on computer to a server? OR download from camera to computer?

There are free offerings.. like Tiny Pic

.. BUT the big downside is that in time they are no longer there.. free is free but you do get what you pay for , if you know what I mean. I use dominia. AND also if you put your pix on Facebook, they are like a server & you can link them. IF You have them on your hard drive.. can you find them? that might sound silly, but is important.

The top space where it asks for file/browse.. click & it will go to your computer. If you can click on your pix, you can load it onto the server for TinyPic.. when the results come up you will see the location to use for posting in the display boxes.

Play with it a bit. I am leaving for a bit.. if you have questions, ask.. there are a lot of really good teachers here & all of us have been exactly where you are now & someone helped us..

Well, for starters I don't have a digital camera, so what I would have to do is take my hard-copy photos and scan them. The problem is, I don't know how to save them from my scanner to my computer. Once I learn how to do that I'll be okay, because I can use Fotki (another freebie image hosting site)n and I know how to do that.

If I weren't such a techno-idiot I would have figured it out a long time ago.:(
