Friendship is seen through the heart, not through the eyes. I’m glad you’re here.

Beautiful opening Billie

Thank you, Meg. Good Tuesday afternoon to you. I do like the way the Monotype Corsiva font looks, and I think that most people here will have that one installed.

To all mothers, grandmothers, aunts,
Nieces, girlfriends, cousins, neighbors
And all those who hold dear,
The respect for the unborn miracle
Of life....

Our New Baby

We're gonna have a baby!
Daddy told me yesterday.
A baby brother or a sister,
Mommy's growing it each day.

It's right there in her tummy.
Can you see it? It's right there ~~
I can hold my hand and feel it move
‘cause Mommy doesn't care.

I wonder, does it like the things
that Mommy has to eat?
All those yucky vegetables?
All that hard to chew up meat?

I hope that it comes out of there
before I get too old ...
Uh oh, Mommy's eating ice cream!
Will that make the baby cold?

Hey! It’s gardengirl - we haven’t seen you in such a long time! Good to hear from you, but after reading your post, I can see why you haven’t had much time to answer any pings! Visit when you can, and hope you’ll be cuddling new grandbaby any day now!

Don't know if you all have heard this one, but it bears repeating if you have:

THE MARINE AND GOD

A United States Marine was attending some college courses between
assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. One of the courses had a
professor who was an avowed atheist and a member of the
ACLU. One day the professor shocked
the class when he came in. He looked to the ceiling and
flatly stated, 'God, if you are real, then I want
you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15
minutes.' The lecture room fell silent. You
could hear a pin drop. Ten minutes went by and the
professor proclaimed, 'Here I am God. I'm still
waiting.' It got down to the last couple of minutes when
the Marine got out of his chair, went up to the
professor, and cold-cocked him; knocking him off the
platform. The professor was out cold. The
Marine went back to his seat and sat there, silently. The
other students were shocked and stunned
and sat there looking on in silence. The professor
eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at
the Marine and asked, 'What the heck is the matter with
you? Why did you do that?' The Marine calmly
replied, 'God was too busy today protecting America's
soldiers who are protecting your right to say
stupid stuff and act like an idiot. So, He sent me.'

Wonderful graphic and excellent music. Today sure sounds like a lot of fun and excitement and I will try to participate when I can.

Thanks, jaycee - 'preciate that. :)

I looked at your recipe and can’t wait for more. The one you posted sounds ‘out of this world’. I love everything Italian!

I'll be posting a 'yummy' dessert in a few minutes. :)

You might like to do this green salad sometime - it's one that even little kids like, 'cause it's got such good stuff in it, and the salad dressing is an old family favorite - easy to make but makes even the simplest salad good! :)

Fresh Green Salad w/ Sweet/Sour Dressing*

fresh mixed baby greens (lots of baby spinach)
cooked bacon, drained & crumbled)
boiled egg, sliced thin
fresh strawberries, sliced in half(prettier that way)
fresh yellow squash, sliced thin - don't peel!
pine nuts

Mix all together and toss with Sweet/Sour Dressing just before serving.

Sweet/Sour Dressing

1/2 cup cooking oil (not olive oil)
1/3 cup ketchup
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
2/3 cup sugar

I use a funnel and pour everything into a pretty bottle used just for this. Shake well to mix it and refrigerate. Shake before using.

That C T looks great and oh so easy to prepare!! I’ll definatly add it to my recipies, thanks!

I hope you enjoy it as much as we do! The most tedious part, for me, is cooking and 'cutting up' the chicken (I don't want any yucky fat or 'stuff' in it and we don't eat much dark meat, but a whole chicken stews so much better than just the breast meat alone, and the broth is also lots richer!) :)
