GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS!
Amazing Grace
by John Newton
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see. . Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, . And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed! . Through many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come; Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home. . The Lord has promised good to me, His Word my hope secures; He will my Shield and Portion be, As long as life endures. . Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease, I shall possess, within the veil, A life of joy and peace. . The earth shall soon dissolve like snow, The sun forbear to shine; But God, Who called me here below, Will be forever mine. . When weve been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, Weve no less days to sing Gods praise Than when wed first begun.

THE NAVY HYMN
Eternal Father, Strong to Save
The Marine Corps Verse:
Eternal Father, grant we pray To all Marines both night and day, The Courage, Honor, Strength and Skill Their Land to serve, Thy Law Fulfill. Be Thou the Shield forevermore From every peril to the Corps!
This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalms 118:24(KJV)
Have a Blessed Lords Day!

I did hear you “WHOO HOO!”
At first I thought it was the new tornado sirens and then realized it was just your sonic booming “WHOO HOO!”!!!
Missed breakfast, but how a bout dinner, my treat.(since I’m cooking)
for an Appetizer,
Asparagus bits in ham hash, stuffed into a pastry shell with a splash of Bearnaise sauce.
Soup Course
Vegetable soup with caramelized leeks and slivered shitaki mushrooms
Salad Course
Mixed greens with Mandarin Orange segments and cashews with a light Balsamic vinaigrette
Entree
Slow baked pot roast crusted with finely chopped onion and a mild mustard glaze, served with garlic potatoes, and a side of buttered summer squash with a brown sugar/molasses glaze.
Fresh breads, honey and raspberry whipped butter, cold milk and hot coffee served as you require.
Dessert will be a chocolate cake with swirled raspberries, with a blended caramel/chocolate frosting, finely crushed almonds and served with French Vanilla ice cream with shaved chocolate and a lightly warmed Cinnamon caramel topping.
After dinner, there will be Margaritas for the ladies (their choice of flavors), for the gents with a discerning palate, a good cigar and a fine old port to sip while telling lies by the fireplace to impress the ladies.

I said a Mother's Day prayer for you
to thank the Lord above
for blessing me with a lifetime
of your tenderhearted love.
I thanked God for the caring
you've shown me through the years,
for the closeness we've enjoyed
in time of laughter and of tears.
And so, I thank you from the heart
for all you've done for me
and I bless the Lord for giving me
the best mother there could be!

Now you know why I get lots of invitations to visit, I love cooking, and most of my friends are happy to have someone else do the cooking. Makes for fun having visitors, you get to rest and they do the work. (I wonder one day if I could cook my way across the U.S.?)

Actually, my wife and I are actually working on a cookbook, rather unique, in that all the recipes are worked up to be cooked in foil on the engine of the family car as you travel!
I did this a lot in my younger days, and got quite good at it. I’ve even baked bread on the engine! The original technique is a depression era thing, as families moved to new areas to look for work. I though as long as we have Obama and his plan to destroy our economy, such a skill revival might come in handy, and serve a whole new generation of participants in this current sequel of “the Grapes of Wrath.”
