MOSCOW, April 13 (RIA Novosti) - Surgeons in Russia's Urals Region were staggered to find a 5-centimeter high spruce growing inside a man's lung, the Komsomolskaya Pravda daily reported on Monday.
The discovery was made while Artyom Sidorkin, 28, from the Urals city of Izhevsk, was undergoing surgery.
Sidorkin had complained of extreme pain in his chest and had been coughing up blood, doctors suspected cancer.
"I blinked three times and thought I was seeing things," Izhevsk surgeon Vladimir Kamashev told the paper.
Medical staff believe Sidorkin had somehow inhaled a seed, which later sprouted inside his lung. The spruce, which was touching the man's capillaries and causing severe pain, was removed.
"It was very painful. But to be honest I did not feel any foreign object inside me," Sidorkin said.
What???
I plant hundreds of seeds every year and none have grown in any of my body parts. Weird.
Make sure you don’t inhale any seed.:-) Give a new meaning to “I didn’t inhale.”
I can’t believe they didn’t call a tree surgeon.
sorry.sorry.....sorry......
Weird garden ping.
The Web site doesn’t show a picture. I’d like to see this.
Remember when you were a kid and Mom warned you to not stick things up your nose? I knew someone who told me her mother told her to not swallow seeds or a tree would grow in her stomach.
No carrots growing out of my nose. LOL
Is the man’s name Brooklyn?
An earlier version of this had the bloody lung picture. You didn’t miss much. But sure enough there was a little bitty tree in there.
There was an earlier post that had a pic.
I hate it when that happens.
This is a 2 inch sprout.
I say this guy was somehow inspired to do something weird, perhaps under the influence of something strange.
When snorting seed is outlawed, only outlaws will grow spruce trees in their lungs.
He was a seedy character.
I was recently told of a kid that had a bean sprout in his sinus.
What branch of medicine is that?
Would you like to be a said outlaw? :-)
LOL! Good one!
