They argue that life can only appear one way: The world has been fascinated with the existence of little green (or gray) men ever since the idea of extraterrestrial life first caught the eyes and ears of the public. Fed by more or less real events, such as UFO sightings, abductions, and inexplicable phenomena such as crop circles, people's fantasies of aliens have grown over the years, and more so after Hollywood started depicting them in movies. Now, a group of researchers comes to argue that humans and possible aliens may share the same genetic architecture, on account of the fact that the building blocks of life are the same in all of the Universe...

How to avoid army?
Few years back a young man tried to avoid enlistment in Croatian army by writing a detailed letter in which he explain that according to the law he should not be called to arms.
Somehow newspaper managed to get a hold of that letter and published it.
Here it is, and here is the English translation
„Dear Mr. Minister, allow me to explain to you my situation in a hope that you will be able to resolve it. At the moment I’m waiting for the invitation to report to the military service in Croatian Army. I’m 23 years old and I am married to a 47 years old widow which has 26 years old daughter. My father is married to that daughter. By marrying daughter of my wife, my father has become my son in law. At the same time, my wife is mother in law to my father and her daughter, his wife is my stepmother. In January my wife and I received a son. This child is brother of father wife and son in law of my father. In the same time this child is my uncle because he is the brother of my stepmother. In May my fathers’ wife gave a birth to a son. That child is my brother because he is the son of my father. In the same time this child is my grandchild because he is the son of my wife’s’ daughter.
To summarize; I am the brother of my grandson, and considering that father of that child is somebody’s husband, I am the father of my wife’s daughter, and brother to her son. It is understandable then that I am my own Grandfather. I hope I explained in a clear and readable way. I hope Mr. Minister that you will release me of my military obligation to the country because the law states clearly that sons of more than two generations (grandfather, father and son) cannot serve in the army at the same time.

“The person is permanently relieved of military service because of possibility of psychic deficiencies and mental instability which is consequence of chaotic relationships in the family.”
