Sadly no joke. My son’s fiancee is going to teach 3 or 4th grade. They are high school sweethearts . I already warned him if she treats us like her students there will be a huge family revolt. I do admit to teasing her quite a bit about her politics & have warned her that mother in laws can be btchy if they think their sons are whipped. I was dead serious about that & I hope she heard me. I am not ready for that son to leave anytime soon I guess.

It’s funny. Not making light of your predicament...I have all girls. But I have brothers, lol. My husband and his brother are closer with their wives families. I wonder why that is. Now, a couple of my brothers, well all of them, are closer with our family.
Hmmm. My MIL, although we disagreed on many things, was wonderful. I couldn’t have asked for a better MIL. My FIL is a different story but fortunately he’s not important, lol. But seriously, my MIL rocked even though I disagreed with her on many issues. She was a good person. Kind.

Four boys here & two girls. The boys were way easier in many ways then my oldest daughter who is 30. My adult ones are 31, 30, 27, 26 & 22 years old. So Sassy at 9 yrs is like a starting over again. My ex husband was closer to my family too. However his mother was the she devil in person & still is. My deceased MIL was a real angel. I miss her very much. I don’t know which way my son will go. Since his fiancee never plans to learn to cook I guess I will see quite a bit of him. I am glad they are waiting a few years to marry.

We need to get that girl (and your son) cooking! Teach her how to cook or expect them over every meal.
How can anyone not know how to cook? I guess in a way I can understand it. I wasn’t the best cook by any stretch of the imagination.

Tried to teach her & she says takeout is fine. Jon plans to have his brother Nick live with them so he can cook. Nick is a very good cook & Sassy helps each night with dinner. I’ve see many girls over the years my crew was dating who didn’t know how to boil eggs even. My mother made sure I was able to cook sew a little & clean. Jon is the only son who isn’t really interested in cooking although he does cook a great breakfast. All my boys can sew a bit & they sure know how to do laundry & clean. lol

I’m the least domesticated person ever. Sorta spoiled growin up (not rich or wealthy but spoiled). I learned to cook and other things but really, least domesticated person ever. Now I’m a domestic goddess (well when it comes to cooking). We won’t talk about the other stuff ;)
You did good. And Jon can cook breakfast. My favorite meal.

Palm Sunday
Have a great Lord's Day all
"As he rode along, the people were spreading their cloaks on the road;
and now as he was approaching the slope of the Mount of Olives,
the whole multitude of his disciples began to praise God aloud
with joy for all the mighty deeds they had seen.
They proclaimed: "Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord.
Peace in heaven and glory in the highest."
Luke 19:36-38

Welcome To Sunday At Amy's Place
The Triumphal Entry 12 The next day the great crowd that had come for the Feast heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. 13 They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the King of Israel! 14Jesus found a young donkey and sat upon it, as it is written, -John 12:12-14 (NIV)

The Measure Of Mercy
You were not redeemed with corruptible things, . . . but with the precious blood of Christ. 1 Peter 1:18-19
What is the distance from Gods throne of splendor down to the abyss of Calvarys cross? What is the measure of the Saviors love for us? In Pauls letter to the Philippians, he described Jesus descent from the heights of glory to the depths of shame and agony and back again (2:5-11).
Christ is the eternal Creator and Lord of all existence, exalted infinitely above earths foulness and decay. He is the source of life, with myriads of angels to sing His praises and do His bidding. Yet, motivated by love for our lost human race, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross (v.8). He came to our puny planet, was born in a cavelike barn with its smells and filth, and was placed as a helpless baby in a feeding trough.
When He grew to manhood, He endured homelessness (Matt. 8:20). Thirsty, He asked an adulteress for water (John 4:7-9). Weary, He fell asleep in a boat on a storm-tossed sea (Mark 4:37-38). Sinless, He was adored by the multitudes one day (Matt. 21:9), and then condemned as a criminal and died on a Roman cross in excruciating pain.
Thats the distance from Gods throne down to Calvary! Thats the measure of His mercy and grace!
O the love that drew salvations plan!
O the grace that brought it down to man!
O the mighty gulf that God did span
At Calvary! Newell

The Cardinal
by Henry Carlile
Not to conform to any other color
Is the secret of being colorful.
He shocks us when he flies
Like a red verb over the land.
He sifts through the blue evenings
To his roost.
He is turning purple.
Soon he'll be black.
In the bar's dark I think of him.
There are no cardinals here.
Only a woman in a red dress.
