Good morning, Pip - nice to see your bright smiling self today. :)
UNFOLDING THE ROSE
It is only a tiny rosebud,
A flower of God's design;
But I cannot unfold the petals
With these clumsy hands of mine.
The secret of unfolding flowers
Is not known to such as I.
GOD opens this flower so sweetly,
When in my hands they fade and die.
If I cannot unfold a rosebud,
This flower of God's design,
Then how can I think I have wisdom
To unfold this life of mine?
So I'll trust in Him for His leading
Each moment of every day.
I will look to him for His guidance
Each step of the pilgrim way.
The pathway that lies before me,
Only my Heavenly Father knows.
I'll trust Him to unfold the moments,
Just as He unfolds the rose.

Thanks, Luv - I love them, too, but unlike you and many others here, I do not grow them. The only gardening I do is in flower pots and hanging baskets filled with seasonal flowers. I do love flowers, but don't like gardening - my flower beds are filled with evergreen shrubs and ground cover. :)
Love that poem - saw it yesterday when searching for one to go with the hot pink rose in opening, but of course it didn’t fit since my rose wasn’t a bud. :)
Recession Boss
Your boss before the recession: Nice job!
Your boss during the recession: Please put more effort into your work!
Your boss after the Quarterly Report:
I said, 'More effort!'
The beatings will continue until morale improves!
Billie, I don’t think I’ve seen a lovelier rose. And if I may say so, the frame matches so perfectly! Thanks! And I did read the lovely poem you provided with it. You did good...LOL!
Have places to go today but I wanted to post a couple of things before I get ready to run!
Luv, our rose is so lovely too! Yellow roses have always been my favorite rose. And I love The Rose by Bette! Always have, thank you!
Johnn, your poem is so nice this morning as always. And yorkie’s addition of the picture completes it all! Thank you all!
Meg, I didn’t get to reply to your graphic yesterday. The precious little girl nestled in the bed of bluebonnets is very spirit lifting!
I love that vintage looking picture, yorkie! The lady’s dress or robe looks like it has pink roses in it, had you noticed? And of course, we all love Wild Irish Rose.
Thank you so much, Jaycee.
Marissa and I both slept better last night.
I should have ignored all of the horror stories. :)
Oh my gosh!! That is so cute - in a bad sort of way! Mean ol’ boss!
Very pretty, GeeBee! I was running through quotes this morning too and I saw that one. Its lovely, isn’t it? I like your little rose graphic too.
Sorry about your roses, guess you are going to have to do something to chase the deer away. Wonder how those thorns feel going down their throats? LOL! Probably they can eat anything. :)
Thanks, Billie!
Though I continued to tell myself not to worry, I couldn’t put it out of my mind.
I had heard stories of social workers going through you cupboards and checking your refrigerator. Also, that they were most concerned with the child having a room of her own.
She didn’t check any cupboards, refrigerator or the other bedrooms. She did talk to Marissa alone in Marissa’s room. I wasn’t sure if her room having my desk and computer in it would be acceptable. I think she was more interested in what Marissa had to say.
I felt like she was telling me that her report on us would be good.
Funny, funny, funny!
I really did laugh out loud on that. Guess the next picture would have been a dead duck...LOL!
I meant ‘your’ rose....NOT ‘our rose’....left out my y..teehee!
I'm sure Marissa is happy to get this over with. Would you believe she told the worker that her favorite food was broccoli? (I think she must have been trying to make points.) She probably didn't think chocolate would be a good answer. She does like broccoli, but I doubt that it is her favorite. LOL
But you are normal, Amy, like the rest of us! We all worry sometimes, its human nature! The sun’ll come out tomorrow!
