“Thou shalt not commit murder.” is the best translation.
It would appear to be ok to kill - for instance in self defense or in a just war.
Otherwise we would be cooperating with sin every time we cheered our troops.
As one who studies the Bible carefully, the correct translation is murder.
I do agree.
However, when I state a Bible verse, I do quote it.
