The geological record on how the loch was formed to begin with pretty much debunks this story. Based on the geological record it is pretty much impossible for the loch to have a prehistoric creature living in its’ waters.

This is no different than the hoax Obama has pulled on the American people and some day many thousands of years from now the geological record will prove that too.

I’ve noticed that the monster seems most active during hard economic times. I guess he must be out looking for a job.

The conclusion of the story: Global warming has killed Nessie and they are looking for the carcass. LOL!

Back in ‘78 while my sub was doing a refit at the Holy Loch, I managed to get a 3 day weekend and decided to visit Loch Ness. The best way in the world to travel is to get a round trip ticket and start jumping trains that seem to be going in the right direction. I had no idea where Loch Ness was in relation to Holy Loch, but sort of North seemed like a good idea. I ended up at the Inverness train station at about 2:30 AM. Oddly enough there was a cab waiting outside. I jumped in, and the driver asked where I wanted to go, so I told him, “Loch Ness”. He looked at me about the same way anybody would look at a mad yank at 2:30 and said, “Lad, it's a whopping great loch! You'll need to pick a spot.” I figured Urquhart Castle would be the most likely for an all night tourist destination, so we set off. After passing through a very small village who's name I will not even attempt to spell, (If you know the history of the loch, you know where I'm talking about.) the cabbie dropped me off on a 2 lane country road with a small white picket fence, an even smaller sign saying, “Urquhart Castle, Historic ruin”, and a dirt path leading downward into darkness. I'm sure the giggle I heard as he drove off was simply my imagination. The first thing I noticed was that it was dark, I'm talking dark like the inside of a goat. There was no second thing I noticed, it was way too dark for that. However, in the end it was worth every last second. I got to watch a Spring Sunrise over Loch Ness. Maybe there is a monster, maybe there's not, but the glory of that morning will be with me for the rest of my life. Sometimes the things we find when we are looking for something else are the finest things of all.

Great. Now the History Channel can do another special on this instead of making history shows (that does seem to be the trend they have been following the last year).

A photograph, taken in 1934 by a London doctor, seemed to show a dinosaur-looking creature with a long neck emerging from the water, and it fueled the Nessie obsession.

That photo turned out to be a fake:
