Biblical UFO References
Ping-Pong

Posted on 03/22/2009 12:23:13 PM PDT by Ping-Pong

I wasn't certain where this should be posted....Religion or General Chat. It is a combination of both. Many will often laugh at UFO reports and I wonder if they realize there are references to them in the Bible. In one of the many UFO reports, this one on January 10, 2008, it was noted that the “ship” was bright and amber colored. The Bible also mentions an "amber colored vehicle."

Ezekiel 1:4 And I looked, and, behold a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.

1:27 And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, and I saw as it were the appearance of fire and it had brightness round about.

Amber ~ Strong's Concordance #2830 ~ chashmal; of uncert. der; prob. bronze or polished spectrum metal: amber

11 Kings 2:11 And it came to pass, as they still went on and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

2:12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried, "My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and the horsemen thereof." And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.

That was the same whirlwind as in Ezekiel....the Chariot of Israel. A spinning, circular disk. Real horses don't fly!

11 Kings 6:15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, "Alas, my master! How shall we do?" (16) And he answered, "Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them." (17) And Elisha prayed, and said, "Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see." And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

God's Christian soldiers. They can't be seen unless God opens our eyes. We don't know when they are present but they are here when needed. The Holy Spirit is with us and we often have help....how many times have you wondered, "how did I miss hitting that car," or "gosh that was a close call."

Ezekiel 30:9 In that day shall messengers go forth from Me in ships to make the careless Ethiopians afraid, and great pain shall come upon them, as in the day of Egypt: for, lo it cometh.'

Angels are called messengers....so, God's messengers/angels go from from Him in ships. What kind of ships? Are they the bright, amber colored (as a bronze or polished metal) ship? Are they the "swift beasts" that move in a circular fashion? He tells us that it will happen in "that day." That is the Day of The Lord.

Zechariah 1:8-11 tells us of the angels that the Lord sent. How did they get there? Four horsemen, angels, were sent to check on the four dominions of earth and they told the Angel of God that earth was at peace....meaning, the four hidden dynasties are at peace and doing very, very well. (Politics, Finance, Education and Religion all under the control of Satan) What transportation did the angels have - the disks!

Zechariah 6:1-7 tells us that these chariots and horses walk "to and fro" through the earth. They will do this too at the very last hour. We will see them and know....for the enemy has the same chariots and....they are coming.

Revelation 9:7 And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.

Horses ~ Let's look in Joel 2 for similar creatures which are impossible to wound or kill.

Joel 2:4 The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run. (5) Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array. (7) They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march everyone on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks: (8) Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded. This mighty army will have supernatural soldiers.

Isaiah 66:15 For, behold, the Lord will come with fire, and with His chariots like a whirlwind, to render His anger with fury, and His rebuke with flames of fire.

66:20 And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the Lord out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to My holy mountain Jerusalem," saith the Lord, "as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the Lord.

Swift Beasts ~ Swift beasts is Hebrew (kirkaroth) from kdrar, to move in a circle; hence, may mean (like English car) any vehicle on wheels. It is never used of animals. - E.W. Bullinger

Isaiah 30:6 The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and anguish, from which come the young and old lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not profit them.

A "viper and fiery flying serpent." What could that be?

Isaiah 31:5 As birds flying, so will the Lord of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also He will deliver it; and passing over He will preserve it."

Isaiah 60:8 Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?

Psalms 104:3 Who layeth the beams of His chambers in the waters: Who maketh the clouds His chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind.

Habakkuk 1:8 Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat.

Horses aren't fierce as wolves and....they don't fly!

Nahum 2:3 The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.

2:4.The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.

Revelation 6:2 And I saw, and behold, a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

This is Satan coming first pretending to be Christ and the world will believe him. After his hour of tribulation....then comes our Saviour:

Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He That sat upon him was called Faithful and true, and in righteousness He doth judge and make war.

19:14. And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

Daniel 11:40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him; and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.

Baalzebub ~ Lord of flies. Later Jews polluted it by changing it to Beel-zebul (Lord of dung or dunghills). E.W. Bullinger

#1176 Baalzebub ~ from 1168 & 2070. Baal of (the) Fly: Baal-Zebub, a special deity of the Ekronites: - Baal-zebub.

#2070 Zeboob ~ from an unused root (mean to flit); a fly (especially one of a stinging nature): - fly

Flit ~ To fly lightly and rapidly; flutter: as, birds flit about in the trees...to move to other quarters, especially by stealth...to be changing or evanescent...a flitting; light, rapid movement ~ Some definitions taken from Websters

Baalhazor, "Lord of the fortresses" provides a connection between Baal and the god of the antichrist. Baal was lord of war and of the sky. Many titles were given to Baal by adding endings to his name. Some examples found in scripture are Baalbamoth = Lord of the high places, Baalzebub = Lord of those who fly, or, flit. Zebub is a Hebrew verb which means to flit from place to place.

The craft are also referred to at times as "birds of the air."

I have attempted to compile all the scripture I could find that referenced "flying vehicles".....chariots, whirlwinds, clouds, horses, etc. As you can see He tells us a great deal about them. They have been here, they will be here again and....they are here now.

Excuse me .. how about ... “rightly dividing the Word of God”.

If you don’t know the writer of the Bible, you will not be able to interpret what HE said.

That’s why we have all sorts of goofy translations and interpretations.

I say this seriously, without derision or disrespect of any kind. Please heed it:

If you believe that UFO phenomena are part of God’s plan for His people (and that seems to be what you’re implying by including Jesus’ army in the end times as a UFO account), you are way, way off in the rough away from reasonable theology and will be easily led astray when the time comes to choose sides.

I’d like to hear what role, if any, you guys think UFOs have in God’s plan for humanity, and if there is one, what accounts of abductions and alien craft following airplanes around has to do with that plan.

Real horses don’t fly! If real horses don’t fly then what does The King Of Kings return to earth on? Just wondering. I love horses, so I would really like to see Him on a beautiful Arabian (little irony there).

My suspicion is that the aliens that are mentioned in the many abduction accounts are fallen angels or demons.

UFO’s and/or “alien” beings have long been suspected by biblical scholars to be possibly real. A real work of the Devil, that is.

God says in the end days the devil will come up with all sorts of “signs and wonders” to fool people into believing he is all powerful. To turn them from God, or to disract them.

While I think there are many people out there who cry “UFO” just for attention, I don’t doubt that many have actually seen odd things.

They are not from God, though.

It talks about creatures called Nephilim in the Bible, Genesis chapter 6:

“The Nephilim were in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of God came unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them: the same were the mighty men that were of old, the men of renown.”

It isn't me that includes Him in this....His Word tells us the plan. My fear is that those that don't know about this will easily fall into Satan's trap when he arrives. They will not be prepared and will believe him to be Christ.

My thoughts on the alien abductions, etc. are that they are satanic. But, because they do those things doesn't negate the fact that God arrived in a "whirlwind" in Ezekiel. His throne was on board. God has His messengers and Satan is allowed his.

Psalms 79:2 the dead bodies of Thy servants have they given to be meat unto the fowls of the heaven,

My understanding of that verse is...Some of God's servants are considered dead, spiritually dead. They are meat - food for Satan's crew...the fowls of the heaven.

Someone on this forum once thought...and I agree, that those that are filled with Christ are not bothered by these beings.

Horses, Chariots, Whirlwinds etc. are references to flying vehicles...so are clouds.

Thank you for your reply Heat Pipes.

Satan arrives first and then Christ. Both arrive the same way. Both use them as transportation apparently but the evil ones get the attention!

A real work of the Devil

How true! The other day my husband was watching a program about the pyramids and temples built by the Maya and the Aztec. There was a suggestion that they proved UFO sightings and/or landings in ancient times. Then it hit me like a brick... all those temples built on top of high mountains in the Andes... Who loves to "ascend into heaven", who wants to "exalt his throne above the stars of God" and "be like the Most High"? Isaiah 14 has the answer: Lucifer! I believe that all this UFO activity is nothing more than demonic activity.

I’m not sure about any of this one way or another. I think if God wants a horse to fly, it will. I find it puzzling that you did not mention the most obvious comparison in your post. That would be New Jerusalem. Whenever I have read that, the different levels always paint a certain picture in my mind.

Certainly you must of heard of the 1968 best seller Chariots of the Gods, and its 1970 movie? This theory of a UFO in the Bible has been around for 41 years and the evidence is not any more convincing now than it was then.

When you read the passage and UNDERSTAND what it is saying you will KNOW there is NO REFERENCE to UFO’s in ANY part of the Bible - New or Old Testament. Sigh. Please stop using ignornace as an advertisement for UFO’s which you may want to believe in more than what the Bible is really talking about.

Ezekiel 1:1 describes them as “visions” of God. Which leads me to infer that they are “visions”— dreams, not UFO’s.
