Cowell says 'no' to 'America's Got Talent'

Cowell says 'no' to 'America's Got Talent'

Simon Cowell has admitted that he has no plans to act as a judge on America's Got Talent.

The music mogul, who created the reality franchise, told Access Hollywood that it was unlikely that he would join David Hasselhoff, Piers Morgan and former X Factor co-star Sharon Osbourne on the panel in the future.

When asked about fronting the show, he replied: "No, no...It's not quite as simple as that. I don’t know if I’d like to.

"I like being on American Idol - I’ve had a good time. I like producing America’s Got Talent and I am on the British version and another show on top of that [X Factor], so it’s quite nice to have variety really."

Cowell also confirmed speculation that he might be leaving American Idol once his contract expires at the end of the current season, saying: "My gut feeling is that I probably will do a new show...but you know, we haven’t fallen out."

Adam, we all KNOW you can hit that screaming high note, but that doesn't mean you have to work it in to every selection.

Exactly. That's why I usually prefer Danny and Kris over Adam. He's no doubt Adam is talented, but he does that exact same thing every week.

It won't let me post it, but someone on Flickr did what we've all been saying, photoshopped AF1 with the Statue of Liberty.

Air Force One and the Statue of Liberty

I agree, good show tonight! I like this theme. I missed alot of Jamie Foxx's mentoring, but from what I saw he did a good job. Just wish someone would have asked him to do 'ugly girl'. :)

Danny and Adam are at the top of my list. For a while there I thought my man Danny had reached a plato, but no! And Simon used a good word in describing Adam... entertainer. That's what I loved about Taylor Hicks.. he's a performer, he entertains, it is his JOB. Danny and Adam (and Kris) have this quality, IMHO. Adam has made some good decisions over the course of the show, like losing the snakebite piercings. I prefer the more mature(20something) look.

Kris... love him! That quirky grin, his talent. Should be in the top three with Danny and Adam because of his originality, IMHO.

My girl Allison! Last week I thought she 'phoned it in', but not so this week! Still, I'm just not sure the timing is right for her or her vocal chords.

Matty Matt Matt... good job, good song, yet I agree.. the competition beats him.

I'm thrilled to hear that AI is actually going to acknowledge Taylor Hicks!!

Hubby asked if I was going to vote for all of them...doesn't make much sense to do that so I only voted for three... Danny, Adam and Kris. I think this might be Matt's week to go.

"I don't know what the future holds for Adam but with the right songs he could be a big time hit. As far as image goes I have seen a lot of people that have turned their lives around and have done some amazing things. I don't never leave God out of the equation. All things are possible through Christ who strengthens us. So there is always hope."

I totally agree. The AI contestants live in a mansion, which means that Danny and Adam probably have a bit of 'hanging out' time. Who knows how God may be working!

I was listening to Adam (on his Facebook page) singing "Is Anybody Listening" as Joshua from 'Ten Commandments, the Musical' and it gives me chills. He gave the words the passion and repsect they deserve... and I hope they mean something to him, or at least watered a seed of faith in his heart. :)

mmmmmmm... biscuits and gravy..::drool::

Had to tell you my daughter (17) loves the 'Randy was in Journey' picture! Recently I found an old Journey album that I hadn't even cut the plastic on! Must've been one of the last albums I bought and just never got around to listening to.

I also think that we all KNOW how he got used to that screaming high note in the first place. Just saying...

Yeah, but if women don’t do it in heels it’s especially important because otherwise, it looks like they are stomping around like a linebacker. I see women like that all the time and I want to tell them to walk like a lady and stand up straight. LOL

I’m going to sound like an old fuddy-duddy, but it’s sad that a lot mothers don’t teach their daughters things like how to sit in a skirt, how to get out of a car like a lady, or how to walk down the stairs so you don’t look bow-legged and the like anymore.

Having grace and being a lady is sadly uncommon these days. Stupid 60’s had to ruin everything! ;-)

You won’t believe this. I am following the official AI Twitter page. This is their update:

“Jamie Foxx is on the show tonight live along with results. Who will go home?”

Hmm...seems like someone is missing from that listing.

ONLY when someone specifically asked them who was performing on the show tonight did they mention Taylor Hicks!

“@CrystalLewis60 Taylor hicks from season five and jamie fox will both be on the show tonight”

It doesn’t surprise me and didn’t surprise me that they couldn’t mention it last night either. I sincerely hope that they have some class and introduce him this year and even exchange a few words with him like they do the others.

It figures. If you blinked last night, you could have missed Ryan “announcing” that Taylor would be on the show tonight, he said it so fast. And they’re certainly not bragging that he’s gonna be on. I just hope they’re nice to him while he’s there. I hope they have the courtesy to announce his name and let him plug his CD. I wouldn’t put anything past them at this point!
