.
For breakfast?
I have a better idea. How about one week all of us who get the show live, agree to NOT watch it, buttape it, then we all paly it back at the same as the West Coast crowd gets it..then we have a HUGE LIVE thread..
Don’t those hurt just a little?...it’s not a normal position for feets to be in..and it has to stretch the tendons..
100% agree. That was basically what I said last night to my wife as we watched.
I don’t have a VCR or DVR. :-(
I have a few spares..I’ll send you one, gladly..
I’ve had to watch it late a couple of times. I just load the thread and read the posts as I watch the performances, so it feels like the same thing. :)
After having some time for reflections, heres my take on last night. It was the BEST show so far in the entire competition. Most of the tunes were songs I enjoy and the performances were all above average. That said, heres the ranks:
1. Allison Clarkson - Someone To Watch Over Me GREAT!! Vocals were spot on and she even looked good. I think it will help her to get some likability which she was having problems with in the past. Bravo!!
2. Danny Downey Jr. - Come Rain or Come Shine Started a bit shaky but he brought it home. He showed that he can come through in the pinch! He may have just sung himself into the finals!
3. Kris Seacrest - The Way You Look Tonight Not bad. Hes got the looks to keep the tiny boppers voting for him and hes got a pleasant voice. Going first could hurt him but I think hell be OK
4. Adam Flame-Butt - Feeling Good It was like Sweet Transvestite from Rocky Horror Picture Show. Way over the top and he had the vice grips tightened again. But I do give him props for that long note. The guy can sing but I just dont care for him.
5. Matt DaMole - My Funny Valentine You cant do that song after Melinda Dolittle made it hers. He sang OK and it was pleasant, but you have to do better if you want to beat Kris into the final 4.
Bottom 2: Matt and Kris. Matt most likely to go home in spite of Simons pimping. (I think Simon gave him good marks so people would vote for Kris or Allison thinking he would be safe.)
No, they don’t hurt a little bit. They hurt a lot, but they look good. :)
Over time, the muscles will change and regular flat shoes will hurt those who wear very, very high heels all the time.
There is an art to walking in heels.
First, roll your shoulders back and stand up to your full height. If you don’t you will look like a hunch back. This one is a dead give-away for spotting women who either don’t know how to walk in heels or normally don’t wear them or just plain don’t feel comfortable.
Second, put one foot out in front of the other. The one calf should almost brush the inside of the other leg as it passes. This will make you glide instead of stomping around like a Clydesdale.
Third, especially when walking in very high heels like those pictured, walk on the balls of your feet. The idea of wearing heels is to be light on your feet and feminine, not looking like you could be pulling the Budweiser Wagon.
Thus concludes RetroKitten’s Charm School for today. ;-)
LOL!!
OK, ladies..here's your chance to chime in on the eternal question..."do women dress for men, or for other women?"
IMHO, it's other women, hands down
Thanks for the insight....
Other women 60%
Men 40%
OW: 99%
M: 1%
Sorry, I should have clarified. When we dress, it’s 60% for other women and 40% for men.
NO, it’s OK..I understood what you meant ( which in itself is probably a tad scary)
Other women don’t give you things. LOL
See you tonight
Thank you.
Adam, we all KNOW you can hit that screaming high note, but that doesn't mean you have to work it in to every selection.
