I've never been in a jail cell, but I do call them urinals.
"You're safe, buddy, only if you can find your way back to the couch!"
My son heard the same thing! Maybe they really did. OHMYGOSH, you know our President was getting more jollies off of this and who knows what he will do to us tomorrow... Stevie, he is NOT who you think he is.
He said 'em both, at different times.
Looterguy could make a TON of money (that's a lotta Heineken) if he only knew who he was! I am stunned that he has not been found, as well. Can he really be that far removed from modern internet life??
For me, the skit that always got me (very pre-9/11) was when Tim and Harvey were the Pilot and CoPilot and Carol Burnett was the Stewardess. She came into the cockpit and said she was bored. They were bored as well. So Captain Harvey decides to make things a little bit more entertaining.
He motions for them to listen, and he picks up the mike to the passenger section. “Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. There is absolutely NO REASON TO PANIC. I repeat: THERE IS NO CAUSE FOR ALARM.”
And then he shuts off the mike and they are just laughing hysterically as the entire cabin erupts in a panic.
Like I said, this was wayyyyyy pre-9/11. But funny as hell.
And you know the ironic thing? Obama did nothing. If blacks are so thrilled that he was elected President, they should shout out instead their love for EACH OTHER. Because the American people elected a black man President, and that is what counts. Obama never did anything. (Sadly, he is making up for lost time now though.)
I like Corky too. She is beautiful and different and I am always curious to see her next performance. I do not care if I ever see Scott again ever. Michael and he were just deadly boring to me.
I was thinking a dreadlocks wig would be a good look for that guy. He could make the locks out of really absorbent cotton...
Thanks Hetty, and everyone else for your kind thoughts. The thread has been a bit of a haven.
This just cracked me up. :) Spackle!
When our son was young he really liked Discovery channel and the History channel, as well as shows like Dick Van Dyke. One time we were at Blockbuster and he was about 7 or 8 and was talking to strangers and telling them about Lincoln and where he was shot and where the bullet lodged and people were like, where did he learn all this and I told them from the History channel.
TV doesn't HAVE to be a bad thing. As usual its about 'choices'.
Yep, I think it was McPhee that did that too and one of the judges commented on it.
He was in the botton 3 because what he did to that song stunk. I doubt he gets 'forced' to do anything. The show is about versatility which is why they have 'themes', to see if they can make something old 'new' again, change it up. Which he did. He is an ACTOR, with a good voice. He has done all types of plays and characters. jmo
Ah, a new version of musical chairs. "Last one back to the couch goes home!"
I have to agree. I'm glad Megan gets another week. I always look forward to what she will do each week. I do wish sometimes that she would make a better choice. This last one just didn't work out. jmo

TOP 9 FINALISTS PERFORM LIVE TUESDAY, MARCH 31, ON FOX
David Cook and Lady Gaga to Perform Wednesday, April 1
Next week, the Top 9 finalists Kris Allen, Anoop Desai, Matt Giraud, Danny Gokey, Allison Iraheta, Megan Joy, Adam Lambert, Scott MacIntyre and Lil Rounds will return to the Idol stage to perform Tuesday, March 31 (8:00-9:20 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX.
Tune in the following night Wednesday, March 26 (9:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) to find out if the judges use their save or if America sends another finalist home. Also, David Cook returns to the IDOL stage to perform his new single Come Back to Me, and pop sensation Lady Gaga takes the stage to sing her hit Poker Face.
David Cooks self-titled debut album was released in November 2008 and has already been certified platinum. The album, for which Cook collaborated with an illustrious group of songwriters, including Chris Cornell, Johnny Rzeznik, Zac Maloy and Raine Maida, entered the Billboard charts at No. 3 and the digital album charts at No. 1, marking the best debut from an AMERICAN IDOL winner since 2006. Light On, the first single from the album, premiered online, received more than 1 million plays in less than a week and dominated the AOL Top 40 radio chart with eight (non-consecutive) weeks at No. 1. His latest single, Come Back To Me, goes to radio on April 6. Cook kicked off his first headline tour, The Declaration Tour 2009, on February 13 and is still going strong with sold-out dates.
Lady Gaga is a multitalented singer and songwriter from New York who learned to play the piano by ear at age 4. She wrote her first piano ballad at age 13 and shortly afterwards began playing in clubs around New York City. She attended Tisch School of the Arts at NYU and was signed by her 20th birthday by Interscope Records. Gaga wrote songs for other pop acts, including The Pussycat Dolls and New Kids on the Block, before her debut album, The Fame, was released in 2008. The albums first single, Just Dance, hit No. 1 around the world and earned Lady Gaga her first Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording. She will embark on a worldwide tour this year in support of her album.
Michael not as much, but Scott is just plain hokey! At least Michael I actually think could make it in a country genre. We all know the only reason Scott is there is because of his disability, that's it!
Corky is just interesting for me to want her to come back. Although, I will admit she was horrid this week. But dag gumit people said Robert Plant was just awful too, (and he really was early on) and look where he ended up!
Another thing which is never discussed here is the songwriting aspect of this contest in the aftermath. Not that anyone needs to write their own stuff, but I would like to hear what Corky has to offer in this realm. Why don't they make them write and sing they're own songs. They could collaborate with someone.
One more point since we all know I'm such a shy poster ;-) Simon said to Corky after her last performance, (paraphrasing) whoever was "advising" her she needed to get rid of. I'm wondering if he knew something which was going on with her in this area. This is a pretty valuable piece of advice if you ask me! Simon usually will tell a contestant in a round about way during the judging phase what he thinks they should do to improve their performance if he likes you! He definitely likes Corky! < /novel>
Cornelia Funke is the writer of the Inkheart series. She is German. They are very well written and keep you turning the pages.
I haven’t seen the movie and probably won’t because the poster of Bella and the lead vampire (sad can’t think of his name!) they looked nothing like what I imagined while reading the books. He should be drop dead gorgeous and he wasn’t. Someone said the actor was the one who played Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter movies. I was shocked because they had uglied him up! He looked better in GOF! So I imagine Carlisle, who I pictured to be suave and beautiful, like a young Cary Grant would be nothing like what I imagined too.
