As of 11:54 PM EST, Dial Idol has it at Chris = 66.63 and Adam = 65.19, Adam getting a late, West Coast surge. This is probably going to be close, but also note that as good as DialIdol has been in previous years, this year, they have not done well AT ALL. I would not put any faith in these numbers.

They believe Adam is the more marketable performer. (and he may be) This is about money. They are going to try and persuade if they really think one is more marketable than the other.

I can tell you one thing. I am not looking forward to hearing Kara's stinkbomb of a song performed by Adam on the radio every hour.

What a photo-finish to the derby! Kris was wonderful singing Ain’t no Sun Shine. And the best of Adam tonight was his incredible rendition of Sam Cook Blues, fantastic.

This has got to be in the end a close call, whoever takes it the results will probably be very close with perhaps only a million votes separating the other.

Both are winners.

But in terms of a real “idol”, in others potential for American icon in the years to come … well, it’s Adam my friends. So that’s it. No surprise. My vote is Adam.

Good luck Adam, looking forward to your first release, I will buy it. There are certain moments when you know you are looking at a classic. Like 1964 when the Rolling Stones came on the stage. Some of the songs were off, but all hard hitting, and, it was … well something. Something about Brian Jones on the harmonica and screaming “And I (just wanna’ make Love to you)”, Keith on the guitar, the way he held it, and did the notes, and Mick … you just knew right there. Going places.

It’s like first seeing Elvis. Or Johnny Cash. George Harrison on guitar. The lyrics of a John Lennon. That face of Paul. Or as crazy as 999 doing “Homicide” for the first time in some bar and coffee joint, or the Deadbeats when they came out and did for the first time “Kill the Hippies”… you just know.

Anyway, I’m California and voting for Adam. California is getting off the tube and voting now. Just texted for Adam twice. Can’t get in on the 866-436-5705 (busy signal) ... I suppose this means A LOT of folks are voting for either Kris or Adam. I suppose this one is going to set all records.

Sort of fun being part of it. This hasn’t been as fun as since I was for Jason Castro.
