Sarah Palin’s teenage daughter angrily denounced reports today that she was to blame for breaking up with the father of her two-month-old son.
Bristol Palin, the daughter of last year’s controversial Republican vice-presidential candidate, responded after it emerged that she and her fiancé, Levi Johnston, had split up.
The story first emerged in the tabloid Star magazine, which quoted Mr Johnston’s sister Mercedes saying that Ms Palin and her mother were to blame for the break-up. The couple had been due to marry this summer.
“Levi tries to see Tripp every single day, but Bristol makes it nearly impossible,” Mercedes Johnston is quoted as saying.
“She tells him he can’t take the baby to our house because she doesn’t want him around ‘white trash’. The worst part, Ms Johnston tells the magazine, is that Governor Palin supports her daughter’s treatment of Mr Johnston.
Ms Palin said in a statement issued through her mother’s political action committee that she was devastated by the report in Star. “Unfortunately, my family has seen many people say and do things to ‘cash in’ on the Palin name. Sometimes that greed clouds good judgment and the truth.”

Yeah, if people are so eager to comment about pregnant teens they should take a look around their own neighborhoods. A couple of the high schools here have daycare and parenting classes too.

I would have left the family off limits and attacked her policies or her own character flaws. Having a child at 44 is not one of them.
I didn't attack Debbie Stabenow because her husband was a John in a hooker ring. That's not her fault, but the fault of Tom Athans. I did attack Stabenow for doing a poor job as senator.
It’s the typical democrat ploy, try to hold conservatives to a standard the leftist liars and dead soul deem ‘conservatism purity’, yet the demcorats are so morally bankrupt that they have no standards to be held to! Bob Beckel is a prime example of this drek, and Hannity fawns all over the pig every time he’s on his show.
Most young folks end up with someone sooner or later ,but once they took the step to have a child together they owe it to their son to put away childish ways and think about their son .
I am not suggesting it’s all Levi’s fault either .
Maybe they both need to grow up !

I’m so tired of Sean. People call in to give their conservative views and he has to jump in and say it himself. He needs to let conservatives talk.

The woman was not ready for prime-time as a vice presidential candidate and now she has enough to deal with as a parent that she doesn’t need to run for president...that’s if she actually cares about her family more than her political career.
I am glad my great-grandmother showed that lack of judgement. She thought she was starting menopause in her 40s. Last week my extended family just buried the result of that. My 96 year old grandaunt, who was one of the most wonderful people I have ever met. Whew! Almost missed that one.
Surely you don’t want to go there. That was a very different woman and a very different time.
Please don't tell me you equate the leader of the United States, a married adulterous man, who lied about his behavior under oath - with a teen child of a politician who chose to bear her child (not abort it) and get on with her life? F'rill?
