If you take your kids to see "The Watchmen," you're a moron...

I think Alan Moore also wrote “The Dark Knight Returns” which I thought was amazing. I’m just hoping that someone makes a movie based on Alex Ross’s series “Kingdom Come”.
Um... Action figures, although some adults collect them, are really marketed to kids. If the descriptions in the article are accurate, this is one depraved movie.
That was Frank Miller. Who also wrote Sin City and 300. He said he was also going to write a comic about Jesus (”with an unusual take”) but so far it hasn’t materialized.
Ok, I always get those two guys confused. Thanks for the clarification.
It’ll depend on how long the camera lingers on the grue.
And the pirate comic tale that was woven through the original won’t be present (it is being marketed separately).
Her point was that parents would be bringing 10 year olds to this film and witnessed such action.
She may have found the movie pointless but ultimately she is concerned about some parents who may come to the film bringing the kids because they dont want to say no.
________
Gotcha. It’s for the children.
If the situation is as you describe above, Deb’s issue is with the parents, not the movie.
“Uhh, it’s Watchmen, anyone with even passing familiarity with the source material will know it’s not (and not meant to be, and shouldn’t be) kiddie fare.”
Uhh, that’s her point. Most people won’t know what kind of movie it is until they are watching it, some with their kids.
For adults either for that matter...
I think she has a problem with the movie as well.
I thought American Psycho was a horrible movie, but not Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer. Sin City was pointlessly sadistic (ooooh look how “ex-trrrrreme”). There was something behind the sadism in Ichi The Killer.
Debbie’s seems to be fixated on a big blue penis swinging in her face.
She also sounds like a total idiot when she writes about the film makers “getting it wrong” with Nixon being president in 1985.
well Debbie..in the graffic novel, it is explained that President Nixon kept winning elections through 1985.
Debbie...this effort makes you out to be an idiot. The penis fixation must say something else.
Moore meant it to be Reagan and Thatcher but all I see is Obama or Clinton. Obama’s the guy wanting to totally control everyone in the name of fairness and equality.
Children who’ve been exposed to the kind of stuff shown in this movie (according to the article) need serious help, not trips to the movie theater!
Although I generally don’t care for Debbie Schlussel, this was a useful review. I think I’ll pull out my rarely-used entertainment veto for this film, and also keep an eye out in case the “novel” turns up.
Mommy, mommy, what the hell is wrong with you - taking me to an "R" rated movie? Are you an idiot?
53% voted for Obama. So... Yes.
I haven’t read anything but the first sentence posted, but I can say her first sentence is right.
This is not a kid’s movie. You don’t take young kids to this. I wouldn’t have taken them to the last two Batman movies.
Do-gooders like Debbie Schlussel are no fun.
Does Schlussel know Passion of the Christ was R-rated?
I wonder if Obama is on this trajectory...
Exactly its a Comic Book series, Hollywood had nothing to do with the original source material, blaming hollywood for it is silly.
Good gosh; from her review this movie sounds AWEFUL (more crap from Hollyweird that I’ll never pay to go see)~!
