I saw that when SandRat posted in on the Canteen and snagged it for WFW. Thank you!

My mood is so good right now ..I am walking around saying Thank you, God over and over..I was loathe to face the fact that I could not take care of pruning trimming and cleanup anymore in my yard..and a man and his daughter knocked on my door (I find out he does other yard work in the area) and they have my front looking so good at a good price. The HOA takes care of mowing and edging...but my hedges and bushes were in big need of control!

You’re so very sweet! Thats why I spend too much time on here because people are so nice! Lately, I haven’t had a lot of time on here. I need to check some email notices from Facebook, I haven’t had time for that either! LOL~~~!

Thank you! I feel great..see why!

He’s coming back next week to do the back..I have some limbs on a tree like photinia to trim.
This “ole gray mare” ain’t what she used to be. I really can’t do this anymore..I pay too high a price with my back...
and then can’t do simple things either.

Are you talking about ‘red tip photenia’? I have 4 of those behind the pool and they grow so fast and I like to keep them cut way back. I paid a guy last year and told him to cut them back to about the height of the wire fence. It looks like they’re dead but it never hurts them. They are already coming out really good. And this year by the end of the season they will be too tall again!

That is wonderful! It’s a perfect example of how God brings us what we need, when we need it. :-)

Does your nose ever get itchier than anything? With few or no allergy symptoms?

I have allergies and am on all sorts of pills and inhalers, so I know the symptoms. I’m laughing at the itch now but really don’t want to lose another night’s sleep.

Mine is a different variety..It blooms and has orange berries about Thanksgiving time..I cut on it so I can weed whack the ivy beyond my patio..Some tall large branches are into my large youpon tree and I need that corrected.
I had my Nandina hedges cut way down...and they will be out of control again if I don’t keep at them. The job I did last year makes them much fuller at the bottom so cutting them way back does not look bad like it did last year.

I paid a high price doing it myself last year..I’ve learned my lesson...for now.

Hey y’all!

Thanks for all the pings! I finally got time to check them and breathe and say hi! I’ve missed everybody! I woke up this morning with the following in my head. Thought y’all might enjoy it! I dedicate it to all my freeper friends!

Please Don’t Think I Don’t Care
Or
The World Inside My Head

When you speak to me, and I seem a million, million miles away,
Please don’t think I don’t care.
I hear you, and I will answer.
It’s just that your voice gets lost in the mad jumble of my thoughts.
The grand-baby that’s two, and the one that’s due,
And the one that almost was but didn’t make it.
What to have for supper, and did I do all that I was supposed to yesterday,
And today I have to do this and this and this and remember that.
Did I send flowers to a loved one’s service,
Or is it a residual memory of other painful losses,
And should I make fried chicken for the family, or a cake,
Or a casserole that they can freeze for later,
And all that depends on what everyone else is bringing.
My husband—he seemed a little off last evening and again this morning,
Maybe a little too tired,
And instantly I am bombarded with memories,
Weeks of sitting by his bedside at Duke Hospital,
After his accident,
And then months of therapy.
My children, some happy, some not,
And there is nothing I can do about either
Except share their sorrow and their joy,
And love them.
A plot line or a bit of dialogue to one of the stories I’m writing,
Something a character said or did that has to be captured before it slips away,
And sometimes they seem more real than the people around me.
The article—the one I haven’t started—that’s due next week,
And oh, don’t forget to answer Cousin George’s letter.
Did I feed the fish today, and have I paid that bill yet?
Do I need toilet paper or kleenex,
Or was it flour or sugar we’re out of,
And did I get gas yesterday or promise myself I’d do it today?
A friend I need to call,
And one I talked to for hours yesterday.
We shared our ups and downs and all arounds,
And that reminds me,
I need to call my sisters and touch base with them,
Need to e-mail my brothers and my mom.
And you—your voice beckons to me,
A lighthouse beacon on a stormy night.
Your voice pulls me in,
Guides me past treacherous shoals,
And I quieten down my thoughts so I can hear you.
So when you speak to me, and I seem a million, million miles away,
Please don’t think I don’t care.
I hear you, and I will answer.

Thanks, Meg! Hugs back!

I caught up a little on your shrub saga! Glad you didn’t do it yourself. I’m finally admitting that I can’t do all the heavy lifting I used to do. Sigh

You write so well, gardengirl.

I gave up digging in the dirt long ago but I enjoyed pruning and trimming. when I didn’t have to bend over..I just had to let it go...and God presented the answer today.

I certainly did love reading that, GG! Good hearing from you! We know how busy you are! Some days, I feel I have that much in my head and it goes round and round...LOL! Guess it means we can still think but now always accomplish those things in our heads!!

I was using ice water on my eyes and pressing an ice bag against my nose during the siege..I don’t recall ever being so itchy without other allergy symptoms, though..Could you be allergic to a med?

Nice poem.

Don't let Amy sign you to a contract.

Thanks, jaycee!

LOL Hubby says—where did you go? Did you hear anything I just said?

We are SO busy! All day today I felt like a broken record. It was 40 this am and foggy, cleared up this afternoon. I sold the most tomato and pepper plants and the poor things are only a couple inches tall! If I said it once, I said it a thousand times—It’s TOO early to put these out! I gave up LOL

It’s always crazy this time of year, but this year is insane! :)

Nowhere near as good as your stuff, but the worlds that live in my head constantly amaze me. :)
