How sad... I guess I was right about it being an issue of defamation.
The bad thing about this is that it taints the entire effort to expose Obama. Why, oh why, can’t people stop fighting amongst themselves and work together? I guess this is always what happens when people let their egos get in the way of their work. It also seems as if there is a great deal of money involved in all of this, so people getting angry with each other doesn’t surprise me at all...
Well, my statement about prayers for Mr. & Mrs. Hale still stand, and I will add in prayers for Mr. Berg, and this MommaE person. Hopefully, they will ALL come to some sort of resolution of this matter before it actually reaches the courts. As far as I’m concerned ALL OF THIS IS - OBAMA’S FAULT!
Dittos on your post. It is going to take all of us freedom loving people working together to get our government out of the hands of the marxists.
Doesn't surprise me either. Given all the factors you mentioned, something like this was bound to happen. Same thing happened over at DU with fans of/critics of Bev Harris.
Given a group of people that take honest questions as a sign of "attack" (the ego portion you mentioned) and throw into that some serious pots of money that start to accumulate, suspicions grow like weeds in such an environment. It's only a matter of time before the powder keg explodes.
I can't say I'm really sad, but I can say I'm a bit disappointed. After finally catching up on the issue (by phrasing my questions about the issue as delicately and infrequently as possible, so I wouldn't be labeled an "Obot" or whatever, which would have hindered further investigation) I have come to see there might be something to the story. Specifically the ability at the time for Ms Dunham to have filed one of those "Hawaiian births" with some double talk and fake testimonials. That, combined with some questionable images leaves an open ended question. A question that requires more research and time for such research than quite frankly I have time for; I wouldn't even know where to start to investigate whether or not a "Certificate of Hawaiian birth" could ever be accepted as the same thing as a "Certification of Live Birth" or a "Certificate of Live Birth" or anything of the sort. It seemed to be more a ceremonial certificate than anything actually formal; at least as far as establishing one's actual place of birth. Not to mention of course, I'm not even remotely qualified to analyze images in the way Polarik apparently did, so how could I ever verify his conclusions' veracity?
But as you pointed out, at this point it seems egos and greed has gotten in the way (if not some outright paranoia thrown in the mix) and the answer will never really be known. I suppose I could take comfort in the fact that it would have been difficult at the time to fly all the way to Kenya from HI, especially for someone 8-9 months pregnant. That, and also the fact that I don't *know*, for a *fact* that a "Certificate of Hawaiian birth" could ever be transformed into some kind of Birth Certificate, or Certification or whatever (as I said above). I can draw some comfort in that ignorance, and my ignorance of image forgery. I suppose we all have to at this point.
I was wondering why there hadn't been too many "birther" threads lately; seems like this is one of the main reasons. Oh well, on the balance, maybe it's a good thing. At least now we can draw reasonable conclusions about who's in it for the money and fame and who's in it for the actual issue.
Seems to be few and far between for the latter reason.
