Why the ripples above and below the craft?They're the result of a cut-&-paste.

Put it in photoshop or fireworks, adjust the hue to -150 and zoom 400% in on the saucer.
I’ll leave the judgement of this to those who take these steps.

Probably from the ionized ?laminar? airflow over the skin of the craft as an essential part of its propulsion and/or flight characteristics.

They’re called artifacts, and it’s the effect of trying to enhance a JPEG in Photoshop, or to compress the number of bytes of the image so it loads more quickly on the web. Nothing nefarious in that.
