He's made the cut too, but the Judges make him sweat.
Not every singer will have to sing to get in. Going by the previews, only the singers that face the judges with another singer will be forced to do that. Of course, the gay kid is in one of these groups.

Randy is too quiet this year. I think he’s on tranquilizers.Randy has been diagnosed with diabetes and has done lots to take care of the condition. Maybe he's not having those sugar highs he was probably having before he found out.
