Here's one indication of the depths to which Clay Aiken's once promising recording career has plunged:

AIKEN TO JOIN BANKS ON MODEL SHOW
Former AMERICAN IDOL star CLAY AIKEN will appear as a guest judge on the panel of hit TV series AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL. The singer will join host Tyra Banks and fellow judges J. Alexander, Nigel Barker and Paulina Porizkova for an episode in the latest series of the popular U.S. reality programme later this month (Feb09). Aiken will also participate in an acting challenge with the model hopefuls in the upcoming episode, while R&B singer Ciara will make a brief appearance in the same show.

For David Cook fans, he's currently planning his first solo tour. Here's a link to a recent interview. (You have to wait for the stupid commerical to run first.)

For 'Dancing With The Stars' fans, Mark Ballas and Derek Hough started a band and will soon be releasing their first album. Here's their first single. It has a dance/rhythmic sound.

What's cool for a red-blooded female like me, is that both Mark and Derek are great looking...and straight. Mark's parents, the champion ballroom dancers Corky and Shirley Ballas, raised Derek and his sister, Julianne. The three kids grew up as brothers and sister. Here's a picture of the three of them when they were teenagers.

I saw a similar article a few days ago and I laughed out loud. Yep, his career tanked.

Pretty much the same list that I posted a link to earlier. They say Michael Sarver gets the mystery spot, I think its Michael Castro, but who knows.

LOL!! Yeah, they spent the last of their traveling money (Martin's money) on the wigs. And the World's Fair sphere (which was being used to store extra wigs, according to the wig salesman) fell over and crushed their rent-a-car.

That's all from memory :-D

LOL!! That’s the one! They say they are going to the Grammar Rodeo in Calgary. That’s a really cute episode. It’s where Homer and Lisa wear the radiations suits and pretend they are astronauts, too. I think they have a sleepover when Homer is working overnight.

2nd to the last contestant, one question, why? She’s not that good is she?

She’s not horrible, but the girl is so mentally unbalanced that it seems wrong and side show-y to put her in there.

That’s weird. I can’t believe people don’t like someone screaming, “Oooooh! Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooh!! OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!” at full volume for 3 minutes.

ROFLMBO! Actually Fantasia had a couple of #1 hits on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart. There haven't been many, but she's had a few. To be blunt, she has only been embraced by black audiences.

When she was on AI, I just disliked her. But the first song she released off her winner's album was this disgusting ode to very young unwed mothers. The song is titled "Baby Mama." Here's the lyrics. It was a hit on R&B/Hip-Hop radio. Fortunately, the controversy over it appears to have killed any chance Fantasia had at a cross-over mainstream career. I have despised her ever since this song was released.

[Chorus]
B-A-B-Y M-A-M-A
This goes out to all my baby mamas
This goes out to all my baby mamas
B-A-B-Y M-A-M-A
This goes out to all my baby mamas
I got love for all my baby mamas

It's about time we had our own song
Don't know what took so long
Cuz now-a-days it like a badge of honor
To be a baby mama
I see ya payin' ya bills
I see ya workin' ya job
I see ya goin' to school
And girl I know it's hard
And even though ya fed up
With makin' beds up
Girl, keep ya head up
All my

[Repeat Chorus]

I see you get that support check in the mail
Ya open it and your like "What the Hell"
You say "This ain't even half of daycare"
Sayin to yourself "This shit ain't fair"
And all my girls who don't get no help
Who gotta do everything by yourself
Remember: What don't kill you can only make you stronger
My baby mama...

[Repeat Chorus]

Cuz we the backbone (of the hood)
I always knew that (that we could)
We can go anywhere, we can do anything
I know we can make it if we dream
And I think it should be a holiday
For single mothers tryin' to make a way
But until then
Here is your song
Show love to my....

[Repeat Chorus]

Oh I know the Baby Mama song. LOLOLOLOL

You know how record companies send out CDs of new releases to radio stations hoping they will play them? Fantasia’s label sent out that song to WLS in Chicago, which is a fairly conservative station (has Rush, Hannity and Levin)- not to mention a TALK station. Roe Conn is the afternoon drive guy and he played it constantly because he thought it was so funny!

The crappy thing about that song is it’s really, really catchy! Hear it one time and you will catch yourself walking around going, “B-A-B-Y this one goes out to all my baby mama’s...” People would call and say, “Stop playing that song! It’s been in my head for days!!”

Modern R&B/Hip-Hop survives because the songs usually have catchy beats and melodies, but the lyrics usually suck big time. :)

Yikes! What the heck is she wearing. Looks like a jacket over nothing. And those ‘tats all over her chunky legs. Some role model for her little daughter.

Thanks for thelink.

I can’t believe that horrible Tatiana made it to the “36”. She must be there for the melodrama.

I do see half a dozen of my favorites there.

I love Jasmine Murray. She’s a sweet-faced girl with a terrific voice.

I wonder who our FR Thread Favorite will be, and who will get the most howls as successor to Constantine/Ace/Dreads?
