Details emerge on Jett Travolta's death

John Travolta, Kelly Preston and their children Jett and Ella Bleu, leave an airport in Rome.

John Travolta's lawyers -- who are close family friends -- reveal that Jett may have died in his father's arms Friday.

Us: How is John doing?

-snip- "John and Kelly are suffering total misery. They were so close to their son. This is hard to accept.

-snip-

Us: Have John and Kelly spent time with anyone since everyone arrived?

Ossi and McDermott: "John and Kelly have been pretty much locked away.

"We are staying here until John leaves. The autopsy should be on Monday.

-snip-

Us: It's been reported that Jett was left alone for several hours before being discovered. Can you clarify the timeline?

Ossi and McDermott: "Jett was not left alone. He had a nanny present at all times. The nanny was sleeping close to Jett's room. There was a baby monitor, a chime on the door so it was known when Jett was going in and out. He was completely supervised. The nanny found him.

Us: Is it true that Jett died in John's arms?

Ossi and McDermott: "Jett may have still been alive when John administered CPR, and then the EMT took over. Jett was pronounced dead at the hospital. I like to believe John had a chance to say goodbye. He may have died in his dad's arms. I am not certain."

Us: It's been said Jett had a history of seizures. How often did he have them?

Ossi and McDermott: "I am not confident to talk about that. I know he had a history, which of course warranted the extra attention."

-snip-

as most other people do get their children vaccinations.. thereby stopping the spread of diseases.. I think the risk of serious health consequences for your child not getting vaccinated would be small..

though I am no Dr. or expert..

so it would not be medical neglect.. though you may have trouble getting your child into public schools..

I agree that adults should be allowed to do whatever they want. I am sorry about your mother.

My mom has been somewhat the opposite. She is now 93 years old and we have had some remarkable developments.

Over the years she loved the attention of doctors. She drove us crazy by wanting to go to doctors.

Consequently, she was put on drug after drug. She has been in a nursing home for several years and has been a zombie for a long time.

A few months ago at her care review plan, I asked about trying to take her off some drugs. Thankfully, the staff agreed to contact the doctor so the withdrawal began.

Our mother is a whole new person. At our Christmas, the rest of the family could not believe it is the same person.

Am I bitter? Yes, but at the same time, I'm grateful that we have some good time with our mother.

I have many other examples of similar experiences to where I avoid doctors except for an accident or something similar.

I have seen the horrors of cancer treatments, only to die at the end of the horror.

I have no confidence in the medical profession. They nearly killed my sister. If she had continued with their treatment, she would not be alive now. Most of them are too lazy to research the best treatment for their patients. They only know to write prescriptions.

Sorry but this is how I feel and I will never criticize how another handles their medical treatment.

It’s absurd. Sheer insanity. But hey...it would make a pretty good SciFi movie....

for six-year olds.

I guess ole Ron found that he could make more $$$ off of the ideas by making up his own religion. My opinion... anybody that could believe in that crap is not just Stuck On Stupid. They’re seriously derranged.

She seems to have matured nicely, wish some other people would grow up as well. BTW today would have been Elvis’ 74th birthday.

I hate to say it....but I am seeing a very disturbing correlation here. And yet, an odd and opposite response from the so-called conservatives here.

From the posts I’ve read so far....the concensus here among most of the posters seems to be that it’s nobody’s business but the Travoltas’ if they withheld medicine from their son, whether due to their religion or otherwise.

And yet, I seem to recall most everyone here at FR being outraged and upset over the withholding of just food and water, at the behest of Terri Shiavo’s husband. Most of the FR posters, myself included, were up in arms about that deliberate causing of her death. Now granted, Terri was an adult, not a child. But it seems to me the same rule would apply. Withholding the care necessary to keep an innocent life alive is wrong, no matter how you spin, slice or cut it. The only people I saw saying it was OK to just let Terri die back then were rabid lefties and DemocRats. Interesting how just the opposite “seems” to be the case here and now on this issue.

For the record...my heart goes out to the Travoltas for their loss and yes, I’ve always enjoyed John’s movies... BUT there is a principle to be acknowledged and dealt with here. And no, in my opinion and from my observation and experience, you do NOT have the right to withhold medical treatment from your children if it would save their life. That’s called child abuse and yes, people HAVE gone to prison for just such neglect. I have no doubt that since this is concerning a well-known and well-liked celebrity, if it is found that the Travoltas were negligent, no action will be taken against them. Still and all, the issue begs looking into more closely and I do see and understand the concern here by a few.

(just my two cents)

What I am seeing here is quite disturbing to me as well. This is the sweetest picture of father and son:

I have no doubt that John loved his son. His brainwashing by a dangerous cult lead to dangerous consequences for his son. What I find shocking is that the people here are so willing to believe the Scientology propaganda machine...when they doubt everything from the Clintons. Lisa Marie's piece of work is a good example. Her father did not like Scientology. I think he would be very dismayed at her. But this we know..the contract that she had to sign and abide by is completely different than what she is espousing to the public. I can't believe the posters who don't seem to bother to understand the founding principles of Scientology and the hatred for psychiatrists and drugs..and most of all..their believe that Dianetics is the ONLY thing that cures the reactive mind (the cause of most ailments) Thank god there are some journalists and NEUROLOGISTS who are questioning what went on in this case.

It’s a perfect thread to post it as John travolta came out right after her death and said that Scientology would have saved her.

"The kid has a low survivability factor. he is going to die eventually....so don’t give him the treatment to live."

Uh....I'm afraid that 25% liberal just zoomed up into the 99.9 percentile!

So then.... you were one of the liberal-minded individuals that agreed with the slow starvation of Terri Shiavo, eh? Got it.

“If 10 years or more had gone by, it would be very unlikely that seizure activity could be attributed to Kawasaki disease,” Meissner said.

Meissner said there is scientific evidence linking professional-strength carpet cleaners with the disease.

I think you are right.. even if the Travolta’s withheld medicine that could have saved Jett.. there will be no prosecution..

as from what i understand seizure disorder is sometimes untreatable....

although.. I would bet anything that the only drug they ever tried was depakote.. because if they had tried other medicines.. the lawyers would be out there telling the world about it..

The scientologists seem to pick on people with very low IQ’s from the members i have seen on youtube today...

which makes it even more scary.. considering they are telling parents to avoid giving their children certain medicine..

btw.. I agree with you too.. Travolta is a great actor.. and is probably a great guy.. Lets hope he did everything he could..
