Details emerge on Jett Travolta's death
John Travolta, Kelly Preston and their children Jett and Ella Bleu, leave an airport in Rome.
John Travolta's lawyers -- who are close family friends -- reveal that Jett may have died in his father's arms Friday.
Us: How is John doing?
-snip- "John and Kelly are suffering total misery. They were so close to their son. This is hard to accept.
-snip-
Us: Have John and Kelly spent time with anyone since everyone arrived?
Ossi and McDermott: "John and Kelly have been pretty much locked away.
"We are staying here until John leaves. The autopsy should be on Monday.
-snip-
Us: It's been reported that Jett was left alone for several hours before being discovered. Can you clarify the timeline?
Ossi and McDermott: "Jett was not left alone. He had a nanny present at all times. The nanny was sleeping close to Jett's room. There was a baby monitor, a chime on the door so it was known when Jett was going in and out. He was completely supervised. The nanny found him.
Us: Is it true that Jett died in John's arms?
Ossi and McDermott: "Jett may have still been alive when John administered CPR, and then the EMT took over. Jett was pronounced dead at the hospital. I like to believe John had a chance to say goodbye. He may have died in his dad's arms. I am not certain."
Us: It's been said Jett had a history of seizures. How often did he have them?
Ossi and McDermott: "I am not confident to talk about that. I know he had a history, which of course warranted the extra attention."

Very sad story.
whatever happened, this is a sad story. my condolences
What would the media have them do? Hold a Press conference?
These people are in shock and deserve our sympathy and we should respect their privacy. Not a slam at the poster, but in general.
Just because I plop down ten bucks to see a movie, does not mean I have any right or expectation that these people are my friends.
I can admire that in anyone.
My sincere condolences to the family.
Scientology will see them through.
Sadder yet is the possibility that Travolta's Scientology beliefs might have contributed to the death.

How so?
What remains to be seen is if there is any fallout over the lack of medical care for the son’s seizure history do to the parent’s Scientology belief’s.
Interesting tidbits from the news:
- McDermott told us it’s not unusual for Jett to sleep 12, even 16 hours a day, so Jett not being present is not unusual.
- We’re now told the grand mal seizures Jett suffered were “frequent and extremely serious.” Travolta’s lawyers, Michael Ossi and Michael McDermott, tell us “each seizure was like a death,” with Jett losing consciousness and convulsing.
- We now know Jett was taking a drug called Depakote, a strong anti-seizure medication. Jett had been having seizures on an average of every four days, until he started taking Depakote.
- Ossi and McDermott say the drug initially worked, reducing the frequency to approximately once every three weeks.
- Jett took Depakote for “several years,” but it eventually lost its effectiveness, according to Ossi and McDermott. They say the Travoltas were concerned about possible physical damage. And, Jett went back to having around one seizure a week. So Travolta and Preston, after consulting neurosurgeons, stopped administering the drug. No one is suggesting withdrawal of the medicine in any way caused the fatal episode.

As someone who has come close to losing a child, I can tell you that you have to work hard at not completely losing it. I am a practicing and pretty serious Christian...and that did not help for a while.
Let go and let God became a pretty common mantra for me.
At that point in a persons life, faith is tested seriously. And, if your faith—no matter what it is—helps you through it, then go for it.
Garvey told RADAR that Jett had no pulse and there was no respiration.
Kelly Preston asked: "Is he breathing? Are you helping him? Are you getting him back? Is he coming back?"
Garvey says he could only answer: "We are still trying."
John and Kelly insisted on traveling in the ambulance with Jett. Garvey reveals that John was holding his son's hand and saying, "Come on Jett."
Garvey told RADAR that Kelly was rubbing Jett's hand, saying, "Come on baby, come on Jett." She was in tears.
OMG.
I find it odd that the media call Jetts careprovider or respite care provider his nanny.
The young lad had a disality that required around the clock care.
I have had many respite care provider over the years to allow us to have a break from each other a 24 hr careprovider and those that we have had are either skilled CNA/Nurses or have learned there skill through years of working with the severly disabled.
Hard to come by quality care and to hire someone whom lives in your home is something I personally could never do I like to have the work enviroment and also our private lives.
John having a wife and daughter I can see the need to have a live in careprovider to keep the emotional balance of his loved ones.
My heart goes out to Mr. Travolta and his family for there loss as many freepers here know their is some wonderful human charactoristics in the heart/soul of the severely disabled kids they raise.
One of their nanny’s was the guy travolta was caught kissing..and he was a wedding photographer. I guess they call him a nanny because he doesn’t have the licenses or degrees or education, etc.
You mean you don't live in Soapadramaville? Where your life is so shallow and empty you live vicariously through the imaginary characters you see on a screen?
I had a SIL who talked about soap characters as if she knew them personally. The world has gone nutz...
Total assumption on your part.
Not everyone follows their religeon to a T.
Brooke Shields is a perfect example of someone who felt the need to take anti depressants post partum and that is not cool with the teaching of Scientology.
Tom Cruies berated her on national tv for it.
I saw an interview with William Buckley who is Catholic and he was very honest about he could spend more time in Prayer and practicing what the Church teaches.

This is not intended to be flame bait, he and his family has my complete condolences in this but I just can’t help but wonder -
His son has a history of seizures, and he is very active in his religion. Does he share Tom Cruises’s feelings of non-medication and instead rely on Scientology’s beliefs?
I can’t really say. I know they believe beings live multiple lifetimes.
