I want to let everyone know now, that we have all the facts, why today seemed a bit, well, crazy...
At Team Sarah we are experiencing -- and, with your help, neutralizing -- an attempt to frame this community for harboring hate speech and bigotry: violations of our own Terms of Use and community standards. We have just found and documented a group of 90 invaders who are plotting to come here to post racist remarks and radical, over the top, content in an attempt to discredit us, to get you, our members, fighting each other, and to just make it difficult for us to function as a community. This is not suspicion. We have irrefutable evidence!
We know who these people are through technological traces of where they are coming from (called IP Addresses) and other means. We have the website owner's information from the website from whence this conspiracy to vandalize our community. We have lodged a protest. And we fight on!
This invasion was detected early on by TeamSarah member Kelley S, who is working with me to protect our community from such misconduct. We are taking many active measures to suppress the invasion. Thank you all for your excellent advice and support in defending TeamSarah. This discredits the Liberal attackers, not TeamSarah!

It is now apparent that the earlier attack on our reputation blogged at The Huffington Post was of the same nature: send in agents provocateurs to say awful things, frame us for violations of our own high standards, and treat them as "real" in order to discredit us. The smoking gun? One of the HuffPo's claims against us is identical to what one of the website's posters gloated about posting!
Just a few samples (we have 15 pages of documentation!) of the conspiracy in the conspirators' own words:
Brown Moses - The idea isn't to troll, but to agree with everyone saying insane poo poo to reinforce their belief they are the ones who are the true supporters of Sarah Palin, and those people who attempt any sort of moderation are evil Obama supporting turncoats who need to be purged. You'll get so much insane poo poo posted then trolling will be irrelevant. __ this is a pretty good point i am trying to get them to admit to/feel more comfortable with using white nationalist rhetoric ___ Brown Moses -If Hillaryis44 is anything to go by the posters will eventually think they've pratically got direct contact with the Palin campaign thanks to the website, and anything they post will be considered by the campaign in a serious way.
With your help we are getting the situation under control. We are working, around the clock sometimes, to exclude potential invaders and to expel those who have sneaked past our defenses. The Invaders tactics resemble the arsonists who put the torch to Gov. Palin's church. They will fail, and fail in shame. TeamSarah is stronger, and more dignified, and together we are repelling these attacks.

You know something? I like Mitt. A hell of a lot more than McCain, who I voted for. And I like Palin. Neither were MY choice for candidate, but I didn’t BADMOUTH any candidate all over the forum about it.

You can help, though, if you run across a troll infestation, hit the “Report Abuse” button, and let the professionals deal with it.

***I have no information on that. I don’t know how many of us freepers have quietly reported abuse and gotten no action. I do know that we have openly tried it and gotten a thread pulled. If I had confidence in the process I would follow it.
Here’s a ferinstance. I saw keyword abuse on the certifigate threads, reported it and the admin mod zotted the troll “searchin”. Then a while later I saw some more keyword abuse, reported it and whoever was on admin mod duty at the time basically said they were not going to do anything about it. I cc’d JimRob and the admin mod said, “whatever floats your boat”. The keyword abuse continued.
Well, I just know the Mods have a huge job to do, and no two people see things in exactly the same way, so we should expect there to be some difference in the decisions they make.
Whatever the case, I would still be concerned about innocent people being reported on a public thread created to OUT the trolls.

***All we need is a basic minimum standard. Ferinstance, I had a long post removed because there were 2 words that were “naughty” according to the admin mod: bull shiite and a$$#0/e. But I’ve seen much, much worse continue to pass under their noses. So if the mods are going to hang their hat on this, they need to hang their hat. The reality of the situation is that the mods have a lot of capricious leeway and they use it on posters and subjects on which they intend to affect discourse. But if there was a minimum standard POSTED, where a dutiful freeper could go and see, “oh, I can’t use bull shiite but I can use bull feces” then the mods would have an easier job and they wouldn’t lose the confidence of dutiful freepers who notice their capriciousness. Yes, I know they have a difficult job to do but they are acting like Moses before his father in law set him straight.

I’ve got 26 on my list; some are noobs, some have old signup dates. Some I’ve run into in the past and always were on the “liberal” side, some are out and out trolls. Some seem sort of regular but just for some reason really extra snarky and nasty about the BC issue.
The short list you pinged me to last night posted by a noob - jetxnet, I think is the one - is a strange list, and has people on it who are not trolls at all. Weird. How can someone who’s been here a few weeks start posting lists of trolls - who are not trolls? Very suspect.
But definitely lefists of probably various groups are in the trolling business bigtime. If the Mods here would either help sniff them out - since they can see the IPs etc - and get rid of them, or at least take a look when abuse button is hit, a lot of them would get cleaned out.
And regarding someone’s comment above - napscoordinator - the difference between a troll and someone honestly debating is pretty easy to detect. In honest debate both parties will agree to learn - read up - find out things. A troll just repeats the same damn crap over and over again, with duplicitous intent.
They never have anything positive to say about anything and just like to stir up trouble and disagreement.
Your explanation is fair. I am not going to get on Sarah threads until she announces she is running for President. They are a waste of time and resources. However, I wish her the best in her endeavors.
There are different kinds of trolls. Sounds like the kind hassling the Sarah site are the kind you describe.
Here’s another aspect of trolls that probably most would agree with (and also that there are different kinds of trolls) - an honest member just avoids the threads that don’t interest him. A troll will glom all over threads that supposedly don’t interest him/her, make cyncial, snide, snarky and belittling comments again and again. If not a bona fide troll, at least a maladjusted person who just likes making a stink and aggravating people.
Sometimes an honest non-troll might make comments of disagreement of course, but the disagreement will be on-topic, not throwing crap into the punchbowl!

I think this photo fits well why the people from DU, 4-chan, etc. attacked. Plus it's from Team Sarah (where I am a member, recommend joining)
Team Sarah has had to dump troll galore after they decided that it would be fun to go over and post malicous and racist comments. They have Zotted almost 90 already. According to I can has Low Taxes (great name btw) It was from 4chan.org ( I would assume /b, which means it would be every 12-16 year old who you never want your kid to hang out with, but is probably their best friend; there is a reason 4-chan is called the sewer of the internet) somethingaweful.com, and DU, which would account for any one from 16-20.
Next we have an article from the Washington Post (here is an article from Fox with the misinformation, but still a good one), where we have Palin defending her family from all the mis-information that has been passed around their family when it comes to Bristol and her fiancee. They had both been reported to have dropped out of school. What the truth is that Bristol is starting her last semester online Levi is also taking classes, while also working as a electrical apprentice.
Palin is also to meet with foreign diplomats from Europe, Asia, and Russia for Alaska's 50th anniversary. Damn if you'll get this kind of exposure in Congress for years. Why I want her to stay governor of Alaska.
Palin is the frontrunner in Odds for 2012. What more can I say, other than to keep this will be hard. Who though that McCain or Obama (well other than the MSM who started campaigning for Obama the second he hit office). Just being realistic, though she'll have the advantage of already been shredded by the press.
