LIFE, believe, is not a dream So dark as sages say; Oft a little morning rain Foretells a pleasant day. Sometimes there are clouds of gloom, But these are transient all; If the shower will make the roses bloom, O why lament its fall ?
Rapidly, merrily, Life's sunny hours flit by, Gratefully, cheerily, Enjoy them as they fly !
What though Death at times steps in And calls our Best away ? What though sorrow seems to win, O'er hope, a heavy sway ? Yet hope again elastic springs, Unconquered, though she fell; Still buoyant are her golden wings, Still strong to bear us well. Manfully, fearlessly, The day of trial bear, For gloriously, victoriously, Can courage quell despair !

Hi Luvie, thank you so much. I have truly missed being on and chatting with all of you! I just will deal with it as calmly as possible, if you know what I mean.
Had a little more trouble this afternoon. Oh, well, thats life I suppose!
Thanks for your other post of “Lady in Red”.

I adore that Red Hat. I would love to wear that to a luncheon. We wear all sorts of hats. Don't let the posse go yet....have been having more trouble. I will not let it upset me. Its no use in getting all tied up inside again. It will be straightened out completely in the near future.

My Hand
My hand to help you rise, my dear,
My hand to touch, and dwell,
The strength I have I want to share,
To give, and make you well.
I watch the struggles all must make,
My hand must reach, and steady,
For as we journey onward, love,
Each of us must be ready.

Isn’t it amazing that stores will be getting their flowers, etc. out just around the corner. In the spring, I bet you don’t get to stop!

Hey gal, there is nothing better than beans and cornbread...all of us country folks and (some city folks) love the combination. Very healthy also!

I don't give my secrets out. LOL!
I use dried aspricots and cut them up.
If you like apricot bread, you'll like it---and it's so easy. Makes two loaves.
I don't like to cook and rarely ask for a recipe. My work-friend gave this at Christmas and when I moved, I made sure I had the recipe.
To: JustAmy
Sounds wonderful, Amy! Crockpot cooking is fun, I think! I need to study my recipe book. Christmas one year ago, one of my sons gave me a new Crockpot, one of the stainless steel ones and it is gorgeous. The only time I use it is when some of the family are coming to eat. Its quite large! I did my little polski’s in it for my Christmas party.

Lori, I looked at your page also after I read Dita’s post. It was just wonderful. Speaking of taking everything down, I know just how you felt. I was terribly gloomy about it, still am to some degree. I don’t want to watch the inaugural or hear him speak every day. Nauseates me. He isn’t as smart as he thinks he is. The two things he’s best at is “reading speeches” and “smiling” from ear to ear.
I heard about a recent poll of our Military and they aren’t too thriled over him either. Being President isn’t going to be as easy as he thinks. (Do you know it kills me that Air Force 1 will be at his disposal for the next four years.) Maybe I’ll get over it someday...like when he leaves office...LOL!
