Beautiful, beautiful, Billie!
Common Loon with Chick
I had never heard a Loon call until I saw "On Golden Pond".
It was set in a lovely location for nature lovers.

Loons are...loony. That’s where the saying comes from.
Ever heard a marsh hen? Or martian, as #2 son calls them. LOL

The movie was the first time I had heard or seen pictures (identified) as loons. On Golden Pond showed me a lovely area that I was unfamiliar with. I would love to be able to see a real live loon.

It was set in a lovely location for nature lovers. I always wanted the guy's job who drove the mail boat. Except when he took Katharine Hepburn to look for Henry Fonda and the boy at night.

combing woods on a winter afternoon |
|
|
|
snow lies dense, bending boughs of spruce and fir and pine
oak and maple, poplar and birch stand and droop and dip barren but for tattered coats of snow white fur
a cardinal on a lark, a flash of crimson, dips and swoops from tree to tree, limb to limb
perches momentarily chips to his suede-feathered mate
then turns on wing retreats into the deeper woods

Adorable!! Just stopped a moment. I did get my shower and dress and I have to make a grocery list before I go. Need to clean up some dishes before I go too! I wanna play but I gotta work some. You know you have to go to store when you are almost out of paper towels, toilet tissue and kleenex....LOL~

I have been trying to clean off my desk and clean out the computer cabinet and I am making no headway, I’m ashamed to say!
Its hard to get organized when each time you get near the computer, you get on the computer and don’t do the work you’re supposed to...that is me I know.
